According to a Wrexham fan I know, their striker Kayden Jackson has turned down a new deal to sign for us. He has only scored 4 goals this season for them, but he's only 22 and has a fair bit of pace apparently.
You never know with Keith he likes an underperformer doesn't always get it right though. But I can see us signing a few players like this before the season starts.
We will be offering peanuts.......hence the initial rejection I suspect.
May be touting himself around for better offers? Good Agent jobby?
Sit back and wait till end of June
The OP says he's turned down a new contract at Wrexham to sign for us, not turned us down to sign for Wrexham.
A few years ago I'd say there's no chance of us signing him, what has he done in the game, poor record etc. But it's Hilly. If he signs I'll look forward to seeing what Hilly saw.
A Google trawl shows he's an England C international and was only latterly given a run in Wrexham's first team which resulted in an upturn in their form.
Not necessarily; you can buy a new car or house even if it's your first. Nevertheless I still read it the same way as you.
That's technically true but very rarely in football parlance do you describe a club offering a player a deal for the first time as a "new deal". It's just a deal or offer. Only a club to which the player is already contracted can offer him a "new deal".
As an aside, when I bought my first house and car, I didn't add the prefix "new". I simply bought a house and a car. When I bought my second car, I bought a "new car", even though it was old. Work that one out.

I'll rephrase then. He has rejected the contract offered by Wrexham to sign a contract at Dale.

Won't be much, but I'd have thought a fee would be needed given his age. Read something on twitter suggested he'd been offered £350 a week by Wrexham though thats most probably completely made up.

He's taking a wage cut with us then
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Gimp, why are you marking down the posts of those who find this lad's prospects remotely promising? Is it because he would be coming from non-league? If so, I have three words for you. Jamie. Fookin'. Vardy.

Unless any player comes direct from either the prem or La Liga he's simply not good enough....

He won't answer.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
Not for me mate, spoke to a Wrexham fan , not our level I'm afraid. Rememeber we are League One, we should be looking up not conference level. We have the funds to build realistically. Hey Fitz I will do what I want! care to change that Pal? Or TVOS.
