Time To Get The Swans Train Back On Track

It seems a long time since the last league win for the Swans but in truth it is only three weeks - a period that has seen them pick up just one point out of the nine that they have played for.

During that time as well though three new players have signed and the two latest imports are expected to make their debut in tomorrow's starting line up as the Fish lot come to the Vetch for the first time in 11 years.

You have to go back even further - 24 years - to find the last time the Swans recorded a victory over tomorrow's visitors although that figure is severely masked by just 8 meetings between the two sides during that period.

Marcus Bean will take his place in the centre of midfield - alongside probably club captain Roberto Martinez as Jackett shuffles his midfield to make allowance for his two new signings. The other - the man who cuts Wayne Rooney's hair, Kevin McLeod - will fit into the left wing position meaning that last season's player of the year Andy Robinson will probably drop to the bench.

There will be a further change at the back as well with Andy Gurney fit and available to play again meaning he will fit in at right back in place of Alan Tate. Another person who is fit again - Adrian Forbes will probably have to be content with what will appear to be a very strong Swans bench alongside Murphy, Tate, Britton, Robinson and last week's goalscorer Lee Thorpe.

It is the start of a big week for the Swans who face Darlington away on Tuesday before 2nd placed Scunthorpe come to the Vetch next weekend and Kenny Jackett will be keen to get that period of games off to a flying start with a win.

Looking at the cod heads, Justin Whittle and the girly named Stacy Coldicott will return from suspension whilst they are also hopeful that Justin Whittle will recover from an ankle injury. Martin Gritton has definitely recovered from his own injury of the same but Rob Jones will definitely not feature.

The Swans without a doubt need a win to get the Swansea train back on track tomorrow and with Grimsby nearer the bottom than the top we have to fancy their chances of achieving just that.
