The paper claims that he has already spoken to people at the club and that he is also a childhood friend of Swans shareholder Martin Morgan. Saunders claim almost seemed to be strengthened when fellow contender Mickey Adams said "I'm not in for it - Dean Saunders looks a cast iron certainty" Saunders is alleged to have spoken to someone from the club twice on Friday and says "I am going to speak to them again but that's all I can say at the moment." "If he is going into management for the first time he wants to go to the right club which is why he's interested in talking to Swansea again." And chairman Huw Jenkins was clearly to adverse to having his board consider a 'rookie' as manager when he said "I don't think there would be any problems in giving someone their first job - if you look at the Football League I think the majority of new appointments have gone down that road" One bookie has reportedly stopped taking bets on Saunders to take over as Swans manager as well as Mark Bowen and the best that they will offer will be 6-1 on Roberto Martinez who was the early favourite to take the job. |
