Huw Jenkins and his Bristol City counterpart Steve Landsdown are naturally in different corners regards the Wurzels recent bids for Lee Trundle.

Landsdown wants to bring the 30 year old striker to Ashton Gate to spearhead their return to the Championship whilst Jenkins is hoping to retain his services as the Swans look to make the very same step up for next season.

And whilst Swansea are issuing 'hands off' warnings in the press, Bristol are claiming that they have not heard back from the Swans as yet suggesting that maybe the bids are yet to be formally rejected.

Today's papers suggest that the latest bid is £600,000 with a further £250,000 in add ons if Trundle helps Bristol return to the top flight for the first time in over 25 years. That valuation is likely to be rejected but there is speculation that Bristol may be prepared to go higher to land their man - something which they hope may tempt Swansea to part with their leading scorer for the past four seasons.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Landsdown said "I have not heard back from Huw for a couple of days - we all have our clubs to run,

"We will just have to wait and see what happens. There is a lot of work to do on this.

"We are well aware of Lee Trundle and the player he is,

"We are looking to bring in players at the moment. "I understand he is a cult hero down in Swansea - if he came here, I am sure he could be the same."

Meanwhile as Landsdown was talking to the Swansea press, Jenkins was on the offensive in Bristol stating clearly that he had no plans to sell Trundle "They've have put in bids before and they have been refused. It is the same now. We have spoken to Bristol City, but that is the end of it. "There is no reason why we would want to see him move to another club. "His influence on and off the field has been very important to the club and he has scored a lot of goals since moving here. "Our viewpoint is that we don't intend selling any player who Roberto Martinez considers an integral part of his squad. There will always be speculation about players, but we want our best players playing for Swansea City and helping us get to the Championship."
