Liverpool Winger Ready To Sign On

Paul Anderson has expressed a desire to join Swansea on loan again ahead of Nottingham Forest and Derby County.

The winger - a long term target of the Swans - is expected to make his decision this week and his preferred choice of destination is the Liberty Stadium although it may not prove as simple as that.

Swansea have previously been quoted as being prepared to pay £100,000 to secure his services for the next 12 months but the Evening Post states that both Nottingham Forest and Derby could be prepared to triple that figure to gain his signature for their own Championship push.

Anderson scored 10 goals in 41 appearances for the Swans last season picking up the young player of the year award together with a League One winners medal and is ready to go back out on loan this season.

The Swans have never made a secret of their desire to grab the youngster for another season with Roberto even coming back from holiday for a day last week to hold talks with him.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Swans manager Roberto Martinez said ''I met with Paul and we agreed that as far as football reasons go it's clear, he wants to play for Swansea City

''We are delighted about that, but there are three parties here, ourselves Liverpool and the player, and we must all come together now on an agreement.

''We all know how excited Paul is about playing Championship football and we're delighted that he wants to do it with us.

''Paul has told me he wants to come back here and that he is happy to carry on his development with Swansea, but now we need to finalise things.

''Paul is on the verge of signing a new contract at Liverpool and we are delighted because we feel that is partly a result of the steps forward he made with us last season,'' the Swansea manager added.

''Now we hope to carry on our relationship, but there's been a lot of interest in Paul and other clubs can try to make offers to try to break that relationship. That's what happens in football.

''Liverpool are in a very busy period and we have to find the right moment to come together with them to finalise things. They will have the final say, but I think we will know very soon what they think.''
