Saints are the final fixture of this coming weekend and have the chance to make the biggest impact.
Saints have to sit and watch their rivals play over the weekend before in the very last match of the fixture list they play Liverpool knowing whether they are playing to just keep up or to surge ahead.
Manchester United face a difficult trip to Swansea City in what is a rare Saturday afternoon 3pm kick off for the Salford Red Devils, likewise Arsenal who hop across the Thames to play Crystal Palace in what will be another tricky game with the Eagles knowing a win will see them in the home straight to safety.
Chelsea at home to Burnley and Man City V Newcastle will hopefully be away victories but sadly will probably be just rubber stamping the fact that the two home clubs are going to be uncatchable.
Then to Sunday and Tottenham V West Ham United at White Hart Lane with a high noon kick off, hopefully the Hammers will be as resilient as they were at St Mary's last week, if they are and Saturday's results go our way then it will be a very different slant on our game against the Ex Saints.
If results have gone our way then a Saints win at St Mary's will be about restoring the advantage to us and putting pressure on our rivals, not only that but it will leave Liverpool trailing in our wake and with only 12 games remaining and needing to win a quarter of them just to catch up that will be a big psycological blow to them.
But the reality is that some of those results wont go the way we want so we will have to concentrate on leaving Liverpool trailing and in doing so keeping up the pressure.
