Club captain Jose Fonte swept the board at the player of the year awards held at St Mary's Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Jose Fonte won both the fans player of the year award as well as the same accolade voted for by his team mates to emulate Adam Lallana in 2013/14.
Fonte was a deserving winner capping a consistent season where he played all but one of the games and playing a key part in the defence that has seen it go into the last day of the season as the joint meanest in the Premier league with Chelsea.
A fitting reward for Fonte who has been with Saints for over 5 1/2 years since joining the club from Crystal Palace has been the backbone of the back four ever since and overseen a rise up from League One to this seasons highest ever Premier league position which could on Sunday become the Club's joint second highest top flight finish ever.
Fonte who also appeared at Wembley in Saints 4-1 win over Carlisle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final has so far played 202(3) league games for Saints scoring 13 goals in doing so, with perhaps none so important as his last minute winner four years ago at Brighton, a goal that put Saints in pole position for automatic promotion as runners up behind Brighton.
Fonte's Players player of the year award was voted for by every player at the club who has appeared in the first team this season and is representative of the high esteem his team mates hold him in.
