The Swans are being linked in today's papers with a move for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher as the Black Cats look to cash in on the player who they paid £12m for three years ago.
It was at the Liberty that Fletcher made his Sunderland debut with two goals in a 2-2 draw but I just cannot see that the Swans would move for this player not with both Bafetimbi Gomis and Eder in our ranks.
It is being reported that Sunderland would want around £4m for the player which is a more realistic price and I am sure that if you talked to most Sunderland fans that they would agree that they overpaid for him when they signed him from Wolves.
For me there is a very similar comparison to be run on value for money - they paid about the same for Fletcher as we paid for Wilfried Bony so you can work out who had the best of those two deals.
That aside - even at £4m - I would struggle to see why Garry Monk would want to shell out on Fletcher as being reported. I suspect that some of this has come from the speculation linking Gomis with a move away from the club - speculation that has been quickly dismissed by the Swansea manager.
