When is a manager not a manager? An intriguing question for a club who have been managerless since November 26th.
With WB now ruling himself out of the running for the position and what appeared to be an internal appointment now looking increasingly like an external one with Kevin Keen, it would seem that the farce has awakened.
RC must make the decision this weekend. No further obfuscation will be tolerated.
This weekend a caretaker who has ruled himself out will have to fashion a result at Spotland in an attempt to stop the run of league defeats which has seen the U's slump to second bottom of the league.
It is hardly the most inspiring of situations for our club. With a testing Christmas and New Year fixture list including Southend and Gillingham, it is absolutely crucial that we secure a result against Rochdale.
I still cannot comprehend how the best squad for years is continuing to struggle against some moderate opposition. But we are and whilst doing so breaking all the wrong sort of records with record goals conceded and a miserable run of defeats.
So WB must stop the rot before handing over the reins to someone else.

Colchester must secure a win tomorrow at a ground where we have previously won. The run of defeats must be stopped and the form from earlier in the season resurrected.
