Deano was subbed off with ten minutes remaining against Bristol City at the weekend, and taken to hospital, after taking a heavy knock. With veteran Aidan Davison suffering an ongoing shoulder injury, young keeper Mark Cousins came on for Gerken to make only his second appearance for the first team.
Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Williams said: "By the time that the team coach arrived at the hospital, Dean had already been discharged.
"He was given some paracetamol for his headache and has been told to rest, which is what he's been doing. He took a boot in the face from their striker, while punching out a cross, but we are hopeful that he will be fit for the weekend."
