U's youngster Thomas Bender this evening made his debut for Wales' under 21s, coming on as a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw at Malta.
The 17-year-old came on in the 54th minute and was booked within minutes of being on the pitch.
Meanwhile, first year pro Michael Rafter was a half time substitute in the Republic of Ireland under 19's goalless draw with Ukraine yesterday.
