John Ward has boosted his attacking options by securing the services of Watford striker Liam Henderson on loan. The 20-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Vicarage Road, has signed until January.
The forward, who can also play on the wing, has made 21 substitute appearances for the Hornets since his debut in 2008, but has yet to score for their first team. He is however a prolific goalscorer for Wadford's reserves and last season scored a hat-trick against the U's second string.
In 2008/9 he spent the latter half of the season on loan at Hartlepool United, making nine appearances (two starts/seven subs) without hitting the back of the net.
The signing means the U's have ended their interest in French forward Francis Laurent, who was on trial last week.
