Dale supporters are being asked if they wish to sponsor a player for the 2008-9 season.
A number of players are available to be sponsored. Supporters can sponsor either the home or the away kit of any player in the Dale squad for the bargain price of £200.
For their money, supporters get their sponsorship recognised in the matchday programme on a special page. That page lists all of the squad's sponsors. In the past, fans have used this sponsorship to advertise their business, remember lost friends or just to get their name in the programme.
In addition to that, each sponsor is given matchday hospiitality for two at any home league game of their choice (subject to availability).
And if that's not enough, each sponsor is given the opportunity to meet the player that they have sponsored.
As I'm sure you can imagine, this popular way of supporting the club sees demand outdo supply, and fans are asked to act fast if they wish to sponsor a player.

Last season, Adam Le Fondre and Ben Muirhead were sponsored by users of this site's messageboard in honour of messageboard poster El Gatto who had recently passed away.
Le Fondre, and an unnamed player will be sponsored by this website.
