I’ll call you out on the Wimpy one,
There is still one where I work in Morden, been there years although no doubt changed hands a few times and undergone plenty of re-furbs in it’s time. It actually has quite a funky 1950’s US Diner look now.
For nostalgia I decided after finishing work, to go and have a burger and chips in there last Christmas time before getting the Tube to meet some friends for a festive beer. The old traditional quarter pounder with cheese and chips meal, can’t whack it, or so I thought…. used to be great when I was a kid, a real treat. Couldn’t believe how much they want for that nowadays, nearly £9 and the burger was nowhere near as good as I remembered and I was left hugely disappointed while wondering why I didn’t go to the greasy spoon a few doors down for pretty much the same burger and saved myself a fiver.

It was actually a full US High school band with majorettes (pretty damned impressive)... The game finished 4-3 to us, there were a sendings off, penalties, missed chances and the band joining in with the QPR songs...
