Jermaine Grandison signs for the Super U's 10:24 - Dec 22 with 621 viewsdurham_exile

After impressing on a recent trial, the 26 year old defender has signed until the end of the season (ie after the Play Off Final!)

Jermaine will wear number 34 on his shirt.

Looked more than accomplished at U23 level . Would not be surprised if he is included in the starting lineup by the end of the season.

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

Wholly agree having seen him twice. Now gives us four options for our new back three format despite Prossers absence (Eastman; Elokobi; Kent; Grandison) whilst less robust, but still skilful, Brindley; KVY and Wynter can compete for a wide slot in the middle five; and that is before Kinsella becomes fit.

I reckon not since the first few weeks of the Joe Dunne era have we been this well blessed with this amount of defensive experience. Boarders will recall the wheels then coming off and a flood of injuries leaving our kids exposed; then briefly propped up by loanees; then more exposure of our youth inexperience, reoccurring year after year. Who can forget the first half slaughter at Wigan (away)?

I think we are on the verge of something special as Guthrie, Johnstone and Bonne gain confidence at the other end.

Guthrie had his best display in his preferred position to date last weekend .
Judging by assessment regards Hoskins during the previous weeks , looks like the club are actively looking for a experienced frontman, so perhaps Porters hamstrings are becoming too regular a problem .
With Briggs starting the road to recovery, soon will have a embarrassment of riches at the back .
