Week 4 Results
BLACKPOOL 1 AFC WIMBLEDON 0
One goal was enough to earn Blackpool a seventh successive home league win, against 10-man Wimbledon. One of the weeks big bankers, with 4 getting it spot-on, and a further 19 having the outcome.
DONCASTER 0 PETERBOROUGH 0
This bore draw brings an end to Peterborough's 100% start to the season. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome.
GILLINGHAM 1 SHREWSBURY 2
Shrewsbury continued their unbeaten start to the season, as they beat a Gillingham team still waiting for their first win. There were 5 who had this spot-on, and another 6 got the outcome.
OLDHAM 3 CHARLTON 4
Ex-U's loanee Fosu scores Charltons second, as they edge out 10-man Oldham, who make it five straight defeats this season. Another of the weeks big bankers, that nobody got a 3 pointer for, but 24 did have the outcome, with 10 going for a 2-0, in what was equally the weeks most predicted result.
WALSALL 2 PLYMOUTH 1
Walsall take their unbeaten run to four, with this win. The last of the weeks bankers has a massive 10 having this spot-on, in what was the weeks other most predicted result, and 13 more got the outcome.
CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1 COLCHESTER 0
A single goal was enough for the U's to carry on with their pathetic away record. Nobody got this spot-on, and just 3 had the outcome.
CHESTERFIELD 0 COVENTRY 0
10-man Chesterfield hang on to earn a point in another bore draw. Yet another game with no 3 pointers, and again just 3 got the outcome.
CRAWLEY 2 YEOVIL 0
Crawley get back-to-back victories for the first time in nearly seven months. There were 3 who got this spot-on, and a further 8 had the outcome.
LINCOLN 0 LUTON 0
Apparently an entertaining game, but it is the third goaless game for us this week, and another with no 3 pointers, with 5 getting the outcome.
PORT VALE 0 NOTTS COUNTY 1
County win it with the only shot on target from either team. There were 2 who got this spot-on, and another 10 had the outcome.
Our first big 10 game week of the season, but with the three bore draws, and the Cambridge 1-0, only earning a handful of points, it was left to the other 6 games to count. With the weeks three big bankers all winning, those games counted in a big way, to give most members a reasonable week. Somebody who had more than a reasonable week was Pinault_Noir, as he was the only one to get three spot-on, the wins for Blackpool, Walsall and Crawley, and with three other outcomes, he is the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 12 points. Other meritorious performances this week came from a back to form Colukev, who had the wins for Shrewsbury and Walsall spot-on, to give him an excellent 10 points, and gsy163, who was the only other one to get two spot-on, the wins for Blackpool and Crawley, on his way to a very good 8 points.
In the Premier, another decent week for mfb_cufc, the best of those with one spot-on, has him topping the table on his own again. The good week for gsy163, moves him up a place, into second. It is all sixers and sevens for the next six positions, so not much change there, though burnsieespana did move up two places. I said last week that Colukev was struggling to find his good Division One form. Well, the struggle is over, and his excellent week takes off the bottom. He is replaced there by jonestones, who is now the only one in either division not to get a 3 pointer. Though going by how many he has had in previous seasons, it is only a matter of time before he gets one.
In Division One, by getting the Crawley 2-0 spot-on, BFG maintains his hold on top spot, though by one point less, as Daniel continues his good start to the season, with another solid week. The big mover in this league is Pinault_Noir, with his top scoring week taking him up four places into third. Consistency is the key for concordman and gerry_us, and they cement their play-off spots. Using the long ball tactics didn't work for TheHappyGooner, but they still remain in the final play-off spot. At the bottom durham_exile shows his first form of the season, with a decent 8 points, and that same points total takes medicine_man off the bottom, as he seems to have found a prescription for success.
