Week 12 Results

CRYSTAL PALACE 2 WEST HAM 2

Palace get a 97th minute equaliser, as they came from two goals down, with West Ham scoring with their only two shots on target. Good news for the 2 (Gate16 and Pinault_Noir), who got this spot-on, and another 6 had the outcome. This was the first 2-2 draw we have had this season.

BURTON 1 IPSWICH 2
Ipswich ended a run of three straight defeats, as they came from behind to win. There were 4 who had this spot-on, and a further 10 got the outcome.

PETERBOROUGH 1 SHREWSBURY 0
Shrewsbury's unbeaten start to the season is brought to an end by a Posh side getting a first victory in six games. There were 2 (noah4x4 and sevebalo), who got this spot-on, and 7 more had the outcome.

FOREST GREEN 2 MORECAMBE 0
Forest Green win for third successive league game, and bring an end to a five game losing run at home. Well done to TheHappyGooner for being the only one to get this spot-on, though 10 did have the outcome, with 7 going for a 1-0, in what was equally the most predicted result this week.

MANSFIELD 1 EXETER 1
An 86th minute equaliser for Exeter, as they end the game with 10 men. Another 1-1 draw that goes almost unbacked. So well done BFG, for being the only one "brave" enough to get 3 points for this, and just durham_exile had the outcome. There were 12 who predicted a win for Mansfield, with 7 going for a 2-1, in what was the weeks other most predicted result.

PORT VALE 0 SWINDON 3
Port Vale's three game winning run crashes to an end, against a Swindon team who have now won more away games than anybody in all four divisions. Nobody had this spot-on, but 8 did get the outcome. There were 12 who predicted that Port Vale would continue with their winning run.

These were tough fixtures to predict this week, so it is not surprising there was a big spread of predictions on the outcomes of these games, with the Peterborough v Shrewsbury fixture having twelve different results predicted, as an example. This big spread of predictions was always going to restrict the number of 3 pointers, so in the circumstances a return of 10 was not too bad. Those 3 pointers were shared out with 10 members getting one each. So this weeks top scorer was decided by the one who got the most outcomes, and that produced a tie with noah4x4 and durham_exile both getting three, to give them a very useful 6 points each.

Don't forget the Happy Cup starts this coming week. All details can be found on the separate Happy Cup thread

In the Premier, that top scoring effort from noah4x4 has extended his lead to very decent 10 points. That late winner for Ipswich gave mfb_cufc his first 3 pointer in seven weeks, and moves him back up into the final Charity Shield spot. But with only 5 points separating 2nd to 6th, the competition for those Charity Shield spots continues to be competitive. That late Palace equaliser helped Gate16 to get out of the relegation zone, where he is replaced by jonestones, whose lucky dip predictions didn't have the desired effect this time.

In Division One, the lead continues to change from week to week, and it is Daniel who takes over again this week, but only on the most 3 pointer rule from gerry_us. That top scoring effort from durham_exile, helped by getting the Ipswich 2-1 spot-on, moves him to within 3 points of an automatic spot. With a number of solid weeks from the chasing pack, it means there are now only 10 points separating the top eight in this league. Another to benefit from the Ipswich 2-1 was OhOriOri, and by getting that spot-on he moves off the bottom.

THE TABLES (84 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
