Week 19 Results ARSENAL 1 NEWCASTLE 0 Nine league games without a victory for Newcastle after this latest defeat. Well done to gsy163 for being the only one to get this spot-on, though 19 did have the outcome. CHELSEA 1 SOUTHAMPTON 0 An Alonso free-kick wins it for Chelsea. There were 2 who had this spot-on, and a further 18 got the outcome. BRISTOL CITY 2 NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1 A fourth successive league win for City. There was a big 6 who got this spot-on, and another 11 had the outcome. PORTSMOUTH 1 BURY 0 Bury remain bottom-of-the-table after this latest defeat. Just the 2 had this spot-on, though 17 got the outcome. ROCHDALE 0 OXFORD UNITED 0 Rochdale drop into the relegation zone after this bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome. SHREWSBURY 1 BLACKPOOL 0 Shrewsbury win it with their only shot on target. There were 3 who had this spot-on, and another 11 got the outcome. LINCOLN 2 ACCRINGTON 0 A goal in each half gives Lincoln victory against 10-man Accrington. Again 3 got this spot-on, and 9 more had the outcome. NOTTS COUNTY 0 GRIMSBY 0 Grimsby have the better of this bore draw, as County fail to have a shot on target. No 3 pointer for anybody, and only 2 got the outcome. There were 18 who predicted a win for County. MANCHESTER CITY 4 TOTTENHAM 1 City make it 16 successive league wins, after another comprehensive performance. There were 2 who did well to get this spot-on, and a further 14 had the outcome. CARDIFF 1 HULL 0 Cardiff are still unbeaten at home after this narrow victory. Again there was 2 who had this spot-on, and another 17 got the outcome, with 9 going for a 2-0, in what was the weeks most predicted result. WOW! What a week this was. Nine games had heavy support for the home teams, and with eight of them winning, we had the highest scoring week of the season so far. With five of those wins being 1-0, it takes that result to 21 for the season, 7 more than the next best 2-0. Those eight home wins produced a 3 pointers total of 21, but it was the 123 outcomes that gave almost all members a very good score. Finally mfb_cufc turned his many outcomes into 3 pointers this week, and he had four of them, the wins for Chelsea, Bristol City, Portsmouth and Shrewsbury, and with four other outcomes, he is this weeks top scorer with a magnificent 16 points. Other performances of merit on this high scoring week came from gerry_us, who had the wins for Lincoln and Man City spot-on, and six other outcomes to on his way to a brilliant 12 points. From gsy163, who had the 1-0 wins for Arsenal, Portsmouth and Cardiff with his blind picks, to give him an excellent 11 points, and thrillseeker, who achieved the same points total by having the wins for Bristol City and Shrewsbury spot-on. And finally for Gate16, who had just the win for Bristol City spot-on, but eight other outcomes gave him an excellent 11 points. A special mention for medicine_man for having nine outcomes. So how has all this high scoring affected the qualification for the Champions League? Well that eleventh and final qualifying spot has gsy163 with his 80 points, just edging out durham_exile by the most 3 pointer rule. With two other members within 4 points of those two, it is still all to play for with 14 fixtures left. In the Premier, on an average week the seven outcomes achieved by noah4x4 would have maintained his decent lead. But this was no average week, and with mfb_cufc getting the highest score by anybody this season, the reigning champ shows he wont be giving up his title without a fight. Even though he drops a place, the excellent week for thrillseeker moves him closer to obtaining a third title. It was a good week for RSCOSWORTH, and even though he moves a place he loses ground on the top three. Seasons best scores for gsy163, Gate16 and Tropical_Us eases their relegation fears, but they were helped by an unfortunate missed week for Sector4, that drops him into that final relegation place. In Division One, by getting that Cardiff win spot-on BFG keeps the chasing pack at arms length. His lead is reduced by a point as seasons best scores from TheHappyGooner and gerry_us leaves them vying for the other automatic spot, that the former still holds onto by virtue of more 3 pointers. Another good week for Daniel, and seven outcomes for concordman, keeps them both well in contention for a top two spot. A 3 pointer for the second week running to go with his impressive haul of outcomes, has finally got eaglesdare into the play-off positions for the first time this season. Another unfortunate missed week for wessex_exile hasn't helped his play-off chances, and has probably put paid to his hopes of making his Champions League. THE TABLES (136 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 20 Fixtures This is an eight game week to make up for the two lost games in Week 18.
