So has anything really changed today in League Two 23:21 - Apr 7 with 707 viewsdurham_exile

So, we lost a keenly contested football match to the Arsenal of the North, Accrington Stanley and Billy Kee was delighted that the parry from Sam Walker bounced up and ricocheted off his knee into an unguarded net.

Accrington Stanley thoroughly deserve to win the league and to be promoted. They can clinch everything next week when they despatch Exeter City at the Wham Stadium.

The only disappointment for the Reds has to be that only 208 of their faithful turned up at the WHCS to witness their latest 1-0 shutout in crowd of 3,174.

We remain four points off the play offs with one fewer game to play.

Accrington 40 83
Luton 42 80
Wycombe 41 74
Exeter 41 72
Notts Co 42 70
Lincoln City 40 67
Coventry 41 65

Mansfield 41 63
Swindon 41 63
Carlisle 42 61
COL U 42 61

We can still obtain 73 points which would have to be enough, but we now need to win four cup finals: Notts Co H, Lincoln A, Swindon H Exeter A

Until mathematically impossible we must still believe.

Now for the gripes. JM was again without Tom Lapslie and Brennan Dickenson (both injured) and not his fault but.................

However why does he persist in playing Mandeville (sub again today) when Junior was again warming the bench and has mustered about as much game time as Macca Bonne?

Notts Co are next in town, they are struggling of late (despite their narrow win over the Sky Blues today) and must be seen off next Saturday. Then comes the most intriguing game of the season against the Imps.

Swindon will be defeated and then St James’ Park Exeter may decide our fate.

Interesting times.

Up the U’s
