Isn’t Enfield full of Turks and North Cypriots?

Am heading out to Tuvalu v Székely Land today at Haringey Borough's ground. The latter is the homeland of my mother's family. So, I have a little interest in this.

I am going to the game at Slough on Saturday, Panjab v Western Armenia as a guest. Panjab are looking to get to the final apparently, looked quite strong in a warm up against Jersey.

Actually, there is an England team, but they didn't qualify. They're called Yorkshire.. it's true, I'm not pulling your leg! They are one of the 31 other members who are not participating in these finals.

Szekely Land easily took care of Tuvalu 4-0 in the opening game of Group C.

A friend went to the Panjab game at Slough yesterday and is hooked, said the atmosphere was brilliant and couldn’t believe how far people had traveled for a 3.00 on a Thursday. Looking forward to tomorrow it is going to be a much closer game.

heard a few interviews with the guys running it and they said that grounds were chosen based on local support for some games...so punjab games in Slough, North Cyprus in Enfield etc. Makes a lot of sense.

Due to work I can't go to ANY games. But when they charge £12 to watch glorified pub teams and £5 for a programme, I'll live without it. Some Grounds host 2 games in a day and they charge you twice.

Did y'all buy tickets off that Conifa website, or is it all right to walk up and pay on the day? Got my eyes on a couple of the games at Bromley.

Just walk up. The crowds are rather small, or at least the game I went to was. I think about 50 paying spectators were there, maybe. I wouldn't expect much in terms of crowd sizes and these are grounds that can hold a few thousand. However, some, like Haringey, only have small grandstands and if the weather goes foul, you may have to fight for cover.

always a bit iffy about conifa. Break-away regions rushing back to the arms of mother Russia. Team's of 'proper' nationals as opposed to residents. If the world cup was run the same way some of those espousing the competition on here would be in uproar, imho.

I didn’t realise it was so political. I thought it was a football only version of the island games. Looking forward to seeing Yorkshire become Crimea II!

some of it is laudible, but i feel some of it can be used for political gain.

Can't say I've looked into it too much, I know the make up of the Ellan Vannin team differs from the Isle of Man national team, but if all the members of the latter could play in the FIFA world cup if the island was affiliated I don't know.

I could research it I suppose, but i prefer to make things up.
