I was always taught that the best place to defend was in their half. Unfortunately they got deeper and deeper as the second half went on. Maybe scoring that early was a mistake.
Still, for a team without expectations they did us proud and there is definitely the nucleus of a very good England team going forwards and a well respected manager who will get better and better over the years. Lots to look forward to in my opinion. |  | | |

We should have been out of sight in the first half and ultimately that cost us the game.
A great shame but we move on.

We allow to many foreigners to invade our football league.
Did not Belgium field eight English Premier League players? It occurs to me that England were probably the only team that fielded only domestic league players. Wouldn't it be interesting to see the competition to allow only players actually playing in their only country's league? Then we would have a chance of success. | | | |

A entertaining tournament with some decent outbreaks of football , but one wonders where the fourth place boys ( who lost three games ) would be if Mike Bassett was still in charge, and the FA had not stumbled into Gareth Southgate appointment.
Let's hope pride in the countries shirt can continue.
Still too much, faking, rolling , diving and histrionics as part of the game .
