Vincent-Young is on the radar of their East Anglian neighbours Ipswich Town.

The 22-year-old defender is out of contract at the JobServe Community Stadium this summer and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Because of his age, Colchester would be due compensation should Vincent-Young, as expected, leave the club.

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

As was Alex Winter last year and he left just before the season started.

I hope KVY stays but nothing is guaranteed.

Burnsie - Last season squad numbers:

Kane Vincent-Young was number 12
Mika Mandron 22
Wynter 14
Barnes 25
Jackson 2
Eastman 18
James 35
Kent 6
Loft 8
O'Sullivan 32
Murray 23
Wright 7
Johnstone 17
Prosser 5
Diaz Wright 44
Dickenson 11
Walker 1
Kinsella 33
Lapslie 4
Dunne 41
Szmodics 10
Guthrie 28
Izza 46

Quite a few changes from last year.
The squad is much better, more balanced this season and with some real quality additions.

As things stand KVY is still our player, and therefore has been given a squad number. The fact he has been given a squad number doesn't mean he is any nearer to signing for us today than he was yesterday. As he hasn't signed the contract yet it suggests to me he is still looking to leave. I hope he does stay, but if he wasn't such a good player the club would have withdrawn this contract a long time ago.

Is he such a good player though?

I cannot understand why we haven't withdrawn our offer. If he hasn't signed and is waiting to get out, why are we still hanging on for him....homegrown or not. If he cannot commit, he should not be anywhere near 1st team on Saturday.

Doesn’t make the match day 18. Maybe he’s off after all.

Supposedly he was going to sign yesterday but was advised against it by his agent and hence wasn’t registered to play today.

Sounds like he's off but as we're only hearing one version of events nobody really knows what is actually happening.

What is weird is no rumours anywhere about where he might end up.
Assume now he is technically a free agent but unless he goes to Scotland (which I hope not) a fee will have to be paid.

Credit to Mrs Went for the apostrophe and probably for your noticing it too.
