Happy League 2018/19 Week 17 (of 38) - Deadline Saturday 1st December 15.00 23:58 - Nov 24 with 2571 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 16 Results

MANCHESTER UNITED 0 CRYSTAL PALACE 0

This was United's first home Premier League clean sheet of the season. Nobody got this spot-on, and just unitedwhites had the outcome. There were 26 who predicted a win for Man Utd, with 13 going for a 2-0, in what was equally the most predicted result of the week.

WATFORD 0 LIVERPOOL 3
Liverpool are unbeaten in their opening 13 matches of a Premier League season for the first time since 2007-08. Again nobody had this spot-on, but 22 did get the outcome.

WEST HAM 0 MANCHESTER CITY 4
City are unbeaten in their past 19 league games. Well done to the 2 (gsy163 and Colukev) who got this spot-on, and a further 25 had the outcome.

LEEDS 2 BRISTOL CITY 0
Fourth straight defeat for 10-man City. A massive 12 had this spot-on, with another 14 getting the outcome.

SWANSEA 1 NORWICH 4
Sixth straight Championship win for Norwich. Nobody got this spot-on, though 17 had the outcome.

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 SOUTHEND 1
Wimbledon ended a run of nine straight league defeats, as Southend take their losing run to four in the league. Only 2 (thrillseeker and gsy163) had this spot-on, and 3 more got the outcome. There were 20 who predicted a win for Southend.

GILLINGHAM 1 LUTON 3
Luton claimed their seventh league win in nine games. There were 4 who got this spot-on, and a further 20 had the outcome, with 13 going for a 2-1, in what was the weeks other most predicted result.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 2 BURY 2
Cambridge pulled off an amazing comeback with 10 men to draw after being two goals down. Well done to Blue4U2 for being the only one to have this spot-on, and 4 more got the outcome. There were 19 who predicted a win for Bury.

COLCHESTER 1 EXETER 1
Two points dropped by the U's as they get their first home draw this season. There were 5 who got this spot-on, with nobody having the outcome. There were 21 who predicted a win for Colchester.

STEVENAGE 3 MK DONS 2
Former U's loanee Rhys Healy gets his seventh goal in 13 starts, as Stevenage came from behind to win with their only three shots on target. Yet another game with no 3 pointer, and only burnsieespana got the outcome. There were 23 who predicted a win for MK Dons.

On paper these were probably some of the easiest games to predict in the Happy League history, and all ten games produced one team with strong support. But the unpredictability of football meant only half the teams read the script, and of those only Leeds made it easy to get those 3 pointers, with the other four producing plenty of outcomes it guaranteed everybody got at least 4 points. So some easy outcomes to be had, but with four games not producing a 3 pointer - Leeds apart - they were not so easy to find. So it was an outstanding performance from Blue4U2 to get three, the wins for Leeds and Luton to go with his good Cambridge 2-2 pick, and with four outcomes he is this weeks top scorer with a brilliant 13 points. There were five members who managed to have two 3 pointers, the best of those being gsy163, who had the two 3 pointers mentioned above, Colukev who had the U's 1-1 to go with his good Man City pick, and wessex_exile, who had the wins for Leeds and Luton, and with three outcomes they each got an excellent 9 points.

Just a reminder, the Happy Cup fixtures for the Group stage Round 2 takes place next weekend. All details can be found on the separate Happy Cup thread.

In the Premier It is as you were, with the top three all getting 7 points, made up of one spot-on and four outcomes. It was the Luton 3-1 spot-on for sevebalo, while noah4x4 and RSCOSWORTH both had the Leeds 2-0. The excellent week for gsy163 moved him up two places, and thrillseeker was also up two mainly thanks to having the Wimbledon 2-1 spot-on. At the bottom a decent 8 points from burnsieespana takes him out of the relegation zone, and a move to 2-0's gave TheHappyGooner a very good 7 points, to help them move a bit nearer to escaping.

In Division One It is just a one week stay at the top for basher2010 despite his five outcomes, as the excellent week for Colukev puts him back to the summit. The good recent run from medicine_man continued with two spot-ons, the wins for Leeds and Luton, and he is up another two places. The biggest mover in this league is not surprisingly Blue4U2 with his brilliant effort taking him up four places and within a point of third place. Not a good week for a no show, and Daniel moves four places in the opposite direction because of it. It has been an up and down first season for ghughes11, and his decent 8 points moved him up a couple of places. The other member to have two 3 pointers was Pinault_Noir, the Leeds 2-0 and the U's 1-1, to give him a decent 8 points as well.

THE TABLES (116 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
