Week 20 Results

HUDDERSFIELD 1 SOUTHAMPTON 3

Ralph Hasenhuttl has won two of his three Premier League matches in charge of Southampton - only one fewer than Mark Hughes managed in 22 attempts as Saints boss.
Nobody got this spot-on, but 14 did have the outcome.

NEWCASTLE 0 FULHAM 0
Fulham kept their first clean sheet in the Premier League in 22 games. Well done to oxfcolu for being the only one to have this spot-on, and 3 more got the outcome. There were 24 who predicted a win for Newcastle with 13 going for a 2-1 in what was equally the weeks most predicted result.

WIGAN 0 BIRMINGHAM 3
Birmingham have now scored in eight consecutive away league matches, doing so for the first time since 2015. Nobody got this spot-on, though 12 did have the outcome.

PORTSMOUTH 3 SUNDERLAND 1
League One leaders Portsmouth see off promotion rivals 10-man Sunderland. Well done to wessex_exile for being the only one to have this spot-on, and a further 19 got the outcome, with 13 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks other most predicted result.

CRAWLEY 2 CARLISLE 3
A sixth defeat in the last seven league games for Crawley, as they lose to free scoring Carlisle. Nobody got this spot-on, but 12 did have the outcome.

MACCLESFIELD 0 PORT VALE 0
Macclesfield extended their unbeaten home run to three matches, and three clean sheets. Well done to TheHappyGooner for being the only ones to have this spot-on, and 4 more got the outcome.

MORECAMBE 3 CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0
Colin Calderwood's reign as Cambridge United manager got off to a losing start as they were well beaten by fellow strugglers Morecambe. Nobody got this spot-on, though 18 did get the outcome.

OLDHAM 2 EXETER 3
A Jayden Stockley hat-trick wins it for Exeter as they came from behind to win this five goal thriller. Well done to Colukev for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 6 got the outcome. There were 17 who predicted a win for Oldham.

After the eight games last week produced some outstanding scores, it was back down to earth this week with the eight games only achieving four 3 pointers, by far the worst return of the season so far. With two games finishing in bore draws, and the six winners in the other games all scoring three goals, that low amount is not really surprising. At least a reasonable return of 88 outcomes gave everybody some points. There was a tie for the honour of being the weeks top scorer with Colukev and oxfcolu coming out best of those who got a 3 pointer, and both had three outcomes to give them a very good 6 points.

There is only one week with six games left now before we know who the qualifiers will be for this seasons Champion League. With BFG qualifying as holder the other places will be taken by the eleven highest point scorers over the two divisions. That vital eleventh spot is currently being held by medicine_man with his 90 points. But with four members on 89 points this is going down to the wire. If any members finish on the same number of points the usual tie-breaker rules will apply.

The Happy Cup Group stage Round 3 fixtures are ready for predicting, and can be found on a separate thread. The deadline for these is Saturday 5th January 12.30.

In the Premier In what was a tough week sevebalo got a useful four outcomes, and he increases his lead by a point. It was also four outcomes that moved current champ thrillseeker up into the final Charity Shield spot, and his highest position this season. At the other end of the table TheHappyGooner continued their good recent run by being the only ones to get a 3 pointer in this division, and finally moved out of the relegation zone, having been there since Week 7.

In Division One By getting that outstanding Exeter 3-2 spot-on Colukev has top spot all to himself again. Four outcomes for Sector4 kept his recent good run going, and he is now safely in the other automatic spot, with 10 points back to the third. The good week for oxfcolu moved him up five places and back into the play-off spots. Another to benefit from getting four outcomes this week is blueeagle, and he moves back into the play-off spots as well. Further down the table concordman and Daniel both did well to have five outcomes, and although they remain unmoved, more importantly they both moved 2 points nearer the play-offs. Well done also to unitedwhites for also having five outcomes.

THE TABLES (144 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
