Anyone of you posters seen us win up there? last time I went we got tonked 4-0 after a shyte drive there and an even shyter drive home. I do remember tonking the bastards at home 6-0 or something when they were top of the league years ago. About time we 'upset' the form book. Next.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.
Seen us win up there a few times, last occasion was the 3-1 BZ upset. Rarely enjoyed a goal so much as we literally had 20 seconds to enjoy, the insane goalie slip, the surprised face of BZ, a couple of steps, the measured slow motion 'pass' of the ball rolling toward and into the net. Only 3/400 of us there. I also enjoy Dr Browns, it's a rare atmosphere in the football world.
Seen us win at Ayrsome park 1-0, sir Les scoring. Last time I went i witnessed Marcus Bent put in one of the worst displays I've ever seen by a professional football player
I have only seen us at Ayresome twice. The first time was in 1974 when we won 3-1. The second time was in 1982 when we lost 2-1. That was typical as we were top of division 2 and Boro were down near the bottom although we put it right in the return winning 6-1.
Theres a photo of Shanks & Stan reading a newspaper when Boro had a corner which I saw in the club shop the other night which could have been from the same game or the season before
I vividly recall Stan taking a corner at the away end, it was blowing a gale and he stuck his finger in his mouth and then held it up to 'test the wind' direction.
I think we scored from it but my memory is a bit cloudy but do recall us winning the game.
Come on Tom, Ken & Richard we all went to most games that season, help me out if your reading this
Enfield you are right-we did score from the corner. Can't remember who scored though. Stan licked his finger and held it up to test the wind direction. What a man !
