I really like him, no nonsense, good ball retention, moves play on quickly, sees a pass.

I know only in friendlies so far but cant believe he's not achieved more.

Maybe another Grant Hall late developer type

captains fantastic

hall and ball would have known each other at spurs.

Not a pointed comment!

I thought Ball was the stand out player of the new ones, he was very good on the ball and protected the back 4 well.

I haven't seen anything of him at all yet but it's very interesting to read the difference between what people are seeing from him vs what was expected.

Seemed like an unnecessary and sub par signing a couple of weeks ago but might actually turn out to be an important player.

Very very early days of course.

Yes, I was very impressed at Oxford last week and watching the club stream yesterday.

So far, can't understand the reaction of fans at his former clubs.

Maybe he's been given his most suitable role by a manager that he has mutual respect and trust with.

You can definitely see how Ball would be meh as a CB or DM in a standard 4-4-2. It is a specialist role to be fair, and not always the most dynamic or eye-catching one. But in a side built for it it's a key cog - City just spent £60m on a fella of a similar build for the position.

Would be splendid if Warbs had us all singing Dom Ball My Lord come the end of the season after everything that's been said.
