Week 7 Results

LEICESTER 2 TOTTENHAM 1

Leicester came from behind to beat a Spurs team that are now without a win in their last nine away games in the Premier League - they last had a longer winless away run between April and December 2006. A decent 7 got this spot-on, and 2 more had the outcome.

BURNLEY 2 NORWICH 0
Burnley have now won six consecutive league meetings with Norwich at Turf Moor after this comfortable victory. Only 2 had this spot-on, and another 9 got the outcome.

NEWCASTLE 0 BRIGHTON 0
Brighton are unbeaten in all five of their Premier League meetings with Newcastle. Brighton have won just one of their last 15 Premier League matches after this forgettable bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, but 3 did have the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Newcastle.

BRISTOL CITY 0 SWANSEA 0
Swansea missed the chance to return to the top of the Championship as Bristol City extended their unbeaten run to seven games with this bore draw. Another game with no goals and no 3 pointer for anybody, though 5 did get the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Bristol City.

DONCASTER 2 PETERBOROUGH 0
Doncaster ended Peterborough's seven-game unbeaten run with this victory. Well done to TheHappyGooner for being the only ones to get this spot-on, and 5 more had the outcome.

GILLINGHAM 0 IPSWICH 1
Ex-U's Kane Vincent-Young scored his first goal for Ipswich as his team remain unbeaten at the top of League 1. Just 2 had this spot-on, and a further 19 got the outcome, with 13 going for a 2-0 in what was equally the most predicted score this week.

MK DONS 0 SOUTHEND 1
Former Celtic and Sweden striker Henrik Larsson appeared to move closer to taking over as Southend boss as he watched from the stands as they obtained their first win of the season. Nobody got this shock result spot-on, and only eagledares had the outcome. 28 predicted a win for MK Dons with 13 going for a 2-0 in what was the weeks other most predicted score.

WYCOMBE 1 PORTSMOUTH 0
Adebayo Akinfenwa scored a late penalty to lead high-flying Wycombe to an ill-tempered win against struggling Portsmouth after both teams had a player sent off. 3 got this spot-on, with 10 more having the outcome.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0 SWINDON 1
Jerry Yates netted the winner as fourth-placed Swindon recovered from their midweek defeat to the Super U's. A good 6 got this spot-on, and another 13 had the outcome.

COLCHESTER 2 LEYTON ORIENT 1
What should have been a comfortable win for the U's was made more difficult after conceding the most calamitous goal ever seen at the Jobserve Stadium. Again a good 6 had this spot-on, with a further 21 getting the outcome.

A 10 game week that failed to match the heights of the previous one this season, but thanks to the wins for Leicester, Swindon and Colchester it still produced a respectable total of 27 spot-ons. It was the 1-0 scoreline that continued to be one for 3 pointers, with another 4 this week making it 15 out of the seasons 50 fixtures ending this way (9 home and 6 away). Again it was noah4x4 who benefited from this score by having the wins for Ipswich and Wycombe spot-on, and three outcomes gave him an excellent 9 points. But he has to share the honour of being the weeks top scorer with Daniel, who was another to benefit from the 1-0 by having the wins for Ipswich and Swindon spot-on, and GOSBTS, who had the wins for Burnley and Colchester spot-on. Well done to the other five members who got two 3 pointers, they were sevebalo, TheHappyGooner, BFG, basher2010 and MattFlat. Best of those who had one 3 pointer was mfb_cufc, who had the Leicester 2-1 and five outcomes to give him a very good 8 points.

In the Premier There is just no stopping noah4x4, and another top scoring effort has increased his lead to an impressive 17 points. With 29 points from the last 4 weeks mfb_cufc is now his nearest challenger, but will require a strong pair of binoculars to see him. By having the 2-1 wins for Leicester and Colchester spot-on, last seasons runner-up sevebalo moves up a couple of places. A good decision to go 2-0 the last nine fixtures enabled TheHappyGooner to double their 3 pointer total for the season, and a very good 8 points moves them out of the relegation zone. He is replaced there by gerry_us, but after the win double today by the U's and the Essex cricket team he will be more than happy.

In Division One Only two outcomes for leader Blue4U2, but it was enough for him to hold onto top spot thanks to the most 3 pointer rule from Daniel, whose recent run of 30 points from the last 4 weeks moved him to the other automatic spot. Up three places into third is BFG, thanks to getting the wins for Wycombe and Colchester spot-on. Outcomes only for Lewis_1 and ghughes11, but they remain in the play-off places. Into the final play-off spot this week is newbie GOSBTS whose top scoring performance took up five places. Not too many changes in the rest of this league, but basher2010 showed glimpses of last seasons good form by having the wins for Swindon and Colchester spot-on, and he is up four places, and another newbie MattFlat produced his best effort so far by getting the wins for Leicester and Swindon spot-on, and he moves up three places.

THE TABLES (50 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
