This is just another example of the PC world gone mad and it shows no sign of letting up soon.Any immigrant in the US can relate to this incredible song not just the irish contingent its crosses all divides IMO.I have written instructions left that its played at my funeral hopefully the priest wont be too angry at the bad words .I will have to make a change saying I want the original lyrics now.

Apparently 'fagg*t' is an old Irish slang word for a lazy person or a waster as well as a historical Americanism for an unpleasant or contemptible woman. I was an 80s child (when the track was recorded) and to my memory the term referred to a male homosexual. That said it just doesn't make sense why a straight male singer and straight female counterpart would hurl homophobic insults at each other. [Post edited 3 Dec 2019 4:10]
