£50M support for EFL Clubs. 20:28 - Mar 18 with 1412 viewsnoah4x4

The sum for Macclesfield will be just enough to pay one of its reported debts to HMRC or Sol Campbell. The sum for Southend might satisfy HMRC. But for clubs not already in trouble it is welcome support.

Absolutely delighted to learn that the EFL will complete the season with promotions and relegation as appropriate.

I wonder, given the time required to "flatten the sombrero" if the 2019- 20 league might not recommence until August and run through September?

Then the 2020-21 season be condensed into October to perhaps June scrapping minor cups like Leasing.Com and League Cup?

Let's hope the NHS gets the ventilators and support it needs for an early resumption. But I can't see much likelihood of things restarting for at least four months.

What is more worrying about this delay is that it gives McG so much more time to formulate his strategy for the first game back! He can do enough damage during half time.

Surely the man with the safest job in football is Lambert?

Five year contract. Even if sacked tomorrow he probably never need to work again with a lucrative four years and x months pay off.

His only problem is the deferment means that he can't lose again until May. He would be financially better placed if sacked on Saturday!
