Week 3 Results

CRYSTAL PALACE 1 EVERTON 2

Palace have now gone 12 Premier League games without a win against Everton. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 7 had the outcome.

QPR 1 MIDDLEBROUGH 1
Middlesbrough were denied a first league win this season. A decent 6 had this spot-on, and 1 more got the outcome.

DONCASTER 4 BRISTOL ROVERS 1
Doncaster continued their strong start to the season with this comfortable victory. Nobody got this spot-on, but 22 did have the outcome.

SUNDERLAND 1 PETERBOROUGH 0
Grant Leadbitter's 81st minute penalty kept Sunderland's unbeaten start to the season going. 4 had this spot-on, and another 14 got the outcome.

MANSFIELD 1 EXETER 2
Exeter came from behind to make it 11 unbeaten trips to Mansfield. Just 2 got this spot-on, and 2 also had the outcome.

WALSALL v LEYTON ORIENT POSTPONED

With the Walsall game postponed because 18 Leyton Orient staff tested positive for Covid-19, and the Cheltenham v Grimsby game also postponed because Grimsby staff tested positive, I wonder how much longer football will be played, because the situation is worse now than in March when last season was curtailed. Also with no fans allowed in stadiums until possibly March, how will EFL clubs survive without help.

The season has started with two decent 10 game weeks, and to a certain extent this weeks surviving 5 games continued with that as they produced a decent 20 spot-ons, and 106 points overall. The weeks stand out performer was concordman, as he was the only one to get 3 spot-ons, the wins for Everton, Sunderland and Exeter, and 1 outcome to make him this weeks top scorer with a brilliant 10 points. There was three members who got 2 spot-ons, they were Pinault_Noir and GOSBTS who both had the Everton 2-1 and the QPR 1-1, and unitedwhites who got the wins for Everton and Sunderland. Best of the ones who had one 3 pointer was TheFatGooner who had the QPR 1-1 to give him a decnt 7 points.

Week 4 will now be an 11 game week to make up for the postponed game this week.

In the Premier It is all change at the top as last weeks 4th 5th and 6th occupy the top three this week. In his short Happy League career TheFatGooner goes top of the Premier for the first time. After his promotion last season basher2010 has continued in the same form, and he is a point behind in second. Another point further back in the final Charity Shield spot is mfb_cufc. By coincidence last weeks 1st 2ndand 3rd are 4th 5th and 6th this week. But with it being so early in the season, league positions are obviously not too significant at the moment.

In Division One By having the Everton 2-1 spot-on ghughes11 continued with the hot start he has made to the season, but he only leads by a point now as the top scoring performance from concordman moves him up into the other automatic place. A solid week for wessex_exile that included having the Exeter 2-1 spot-on, but he drops a place to third. Up four places into fourth is unitedwhites who is showing the sort of form that got him into the play-offs two seasons ago. Another to benefit from having the Everton 2-1 spot-on is blueeagle, and he moves back into a play-off spot. Although he drops three places medicine_man still occupies the final play-off spot. Further down the league a decent 7 points for Pinault_Noir has moved him on to the pack just outside the play-off places. At the bottom GOSBTS continues his week on week progression, and gets his first 3 pointer of the season.

THE TABLES (25 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
