I hear what you’re saying RS. As frustrating as recent results and performances have been, I don’t think we should lose sight of the fact that Steve Ball is just 21 league matches into his role as Head Coach, we’ve been hovering in and around the play-offs pretty much all season, and even now are only 2pts outside them. I think calling for his sacking is incredibly premature, we’re not that sort of club, and I didn’t think those sorts of supporters. As for Brown, Ball shuffles the pack as he sees its required to try and get our slump turned around. Whatever the reason, Jevani has gone off the boil right now, and maybe there is an offer coming in January that either means his heads not in the right place, our we’re wrapping him in cotton wool as insurance? We’ll find out soon enough, but we shouldn’t forget it was Ball who finally brought out what we paid for from him.

I agree, what more can you expect when Cowling continues with this failed philosophy of having all teams from first team to U16's playing the same system. Then tied in with this every new manager/coach is an inexperienced internal. That has really come home to roost this season when the internal appointment is clearly out of his depth, and bang average teams are dominating us virtually every game. As Cowling has said he is in for the long haul, and intends to hand over to his son one day, we can expect many more years of this rubbish. | |

If Robbie stays as chairman, and intends to hand over JobServe to his son when he retires, I'd also expect to still have a football club to support at that point. | |

I have never felt so disappointed as a U's fan in 50 years because I see us failing in a league which is weaker than it has been for years.
Ball has no tactical nous. What is his assistant allowed to do and what input does he have in team affairs

I have also never felt so disappointed as a U's fan in over 50 years. The problem, as I said in my earlier post, is there could be many more years of this to come while the Cowling's own the club. Like everybody else I am grateful for the clubs survival in these hard times for business. But in the long term just surviving is not an ambition. If the current decline continues that survival will be in the non-league. | |
