Week 26 Results

BURNLEY 1 ARSENAL 1

Burnley have drawn five consecutive home league games for the third time in their history, 3 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome. 21 predicted a win for Arsenal.

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION 1 LEICESTER CITY 2
Daniel Amartey scored an 87th minute winner, his first goal since 2016, as Leicester came from behind to beat Brighton and boost their bid for Champions League qualification. A devine 9 had this spot-on, and a further 11 got the outcome.

BARNSLEY 1 BIRMINGHAM CITY 0
Daryl Dike smashed home the only goal of the game as Barnsley claimed a seventh straight Championship win. A magnificent 7 got this spot-on, and a further 18 had the outcome.

COVENTRY CITY 1 DERBY COUNTY 0
Maxime Biamou's clinical finish was enough to give Coventry victory and moved them six points clear of the Championship relegation zone. A sublime 5 had this spot-on, and 5 also got the outcome.

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN v CARDIFF CITY VOID This game was moved to Friday, so to be fair to those who had not posted their predictions, I had no option but to void this game. It ended as a bore draw, with no 3 pointers at time of game being made void.

NORWICH CITY 3 LUTON TOWN 0
Teemu Pukki grabbed his 19th and 20th goals of the season as runaway leaders Norwich got a seventh successive Championship victory. A sublime 5 got this spot-on, and another 21 had the outcome with 13 going for a 2-0 in what was equally the weeks most predicted score.

HULL CITY 2 BRISTOL ROVERS 0
Hull moved top of League One, as they win with their only two shots on target. A massive 13 had this spot-on in what was the weeks other most predicted score, and 13 also got the outcome.

WIGAN ATHLETIC 3 MILTON KEYNES DONS 0
Wigan gave their League One survival hopes a major boost with this comfortable victory. Nobody got this spot-on, but 9 did have the outcome.

COLCHESTER UNITED 0 NEWPORT COUNTY 2
Newport win for the first time at Colchester since 1973 and they had only scored one goal since 1974 and that was last year. Only 2 had this spot-on, and another 5 got the outcome.

OLDHAM ATHLETIC 0 SOUTHEND UNITED 0
Southend came closest to breaking the deadlock in a dismal bore draw. Nobody got this spot-on, though 4 did have the outcome.

With no fans at games, kick-off times can be changed at short notice, and that is what happened with the Huddersfield v Cardiff match. If everybody had posted their predictions before the Friday kick-off, the result would have still counted, but that was not the case, so Week 27 will now be an 11 game one. The nine games left were a bit hit and miss, but the wins for Leicester, Barnsley, Norwich and Hull produced some big points, and we ended with an impressive 44 spot-ons. In my 7 seasons of administrating the Happy League that is the most 3 pointers we have had in a week. Achieved in only nine games as well. It has been bit of a hit or miss season for basher2010, that has seen three blank weeks, but when he hits it is big, and he got four 3 pointers for the second time this season. They were the Burnley 1-1, and the wins for Coventry, Norwich and Hull, and with three outcomes, he is the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 15 points. That feat of getting four 3 pointers has also been achieved twice this season by sevebalo, and he came close to doing it for a third time, but had to settle for three, the wins for Barnsley, Norwich and Hull, and with three outcomes, he got an excellent 12 points. Two more members also got three 3 pointers. They were medicine_man, who must have taken his Happy Cup medication, to get the wins for Leicester, Hull and Newport, and four outcomes to give him an excellent 13 points, and oxfcolu, who got the wins for Leicester, Norwich and Hull, to get him a very decent 9 points. Eight members did well to have two 3 pointers, the best of which came from Pinault_Noir, who had the 2-0 wins for Hull and Newport, and five outcomes, to give him a superb 11 points.

In the Premier After leading on the most 3 pointer rule last week sevebalo has a 4 point lead this one, after his decent week. Having the wins for Leicester and Barnsley spot-on made sure mfb_cufc remained second, but only just as the brilliant performance from basher2010 moved back into the final Charity Shield spot for the first time since Week 4. Two 3 pointers for noah4x4, the 1-0 wins for Barnsley and Coventry, but he remains fifth. Two 3 pointers also for TheFatGooner, the wins for Barnsley and Hull, and he moves up a place. The only other change in this division saw Daniel move up a place. Even though the bottom three remains the same, there is only 4 points separating 6th to 10th.

In Division One Even though everybody got at least 5 points, there is no change in positions from last week in this league. Leader concordman got the Hull 2-0 spot-on, to help him increase his lead by a point. Having the Norwich 3-0 spot-on made sure ghughes11 remained in the other automatic spot, but unitedwhites and blueeagle both moved closer, thanks to getting the Leicester 2-1 spot-on. durham_exile remains in the final play-off place, but it is now only on the most 3 pointer rule from burnsieespana, after he had the wins for Leicester and Coventry spot-on. Further down the league two 3 pointers for GOSBTS, the Burnley 1-1 and the Barnsley 1-0, and gsy163 the wins for Barnsley and Hull, will give them hope of making a late play-off bid. But along with oxfcolu, they have shared positions 10th to 12th between them for the last 14 weeks. A welcome two 3 pointers for TheHappyGooner, the 1-0 wins for Barnsley and Coventry. They were needed as the good weeks for Pinault_Noir and medicine_man has added spice in the battle for the wooden spoon.

THE TABLES (211 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
