Happy League 2020/21 Week 29 (of 34) - Deadline Saturday 27th March 15.00 21:03 - Mar 20 with 1265 viewsmfb_cufc

Week 28 Results

BRISTOL CITY 0 ROTHERHAM UNITED 2

Rotherham moved within three points of safety as they condemned Bristol City to a sixth successive home defeat. Nobody got this spot-on, and only 2 had the outcome. The other 25 predicted a win for City with 11 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

MILLWALL 1 MIDDLESBROUGH 0
Grant Hall's own goal delivered a blow to Middlesbrough's fading Championship play-off hopes, and saw Millwall pick up their third win in five games. 3 had this spot-on, and another 6 got the outcome.

GILLINGHAM 2 DONCASTER ROVERS 2
Doncaster's winless run extended to four games despite coming from two goals down, after Gillingham had scored twice in the first 4 minutes. Nobody got this spot-on, but 5 did have the outcome.

NORTHAMPTON TOWN 0 CREWE ALEXANDRA 1
Northampton plunged deeper into relegation trouble at the bottom of League One after losing at home to Crewe, and failing to have a shot on target. Sounds familiar. 4 had this spot-on, and another 8 got the outcome.

BARROW 3 CRAWLEY TOWN 2
Scott Quigley's dramatic 95th minute winner secured Barrow four straight Football League wins for the first time since 1968. Nobody got this spot-on, though 8 did have the outcome.

TRANMERE ROVERS 2 EXETER CITY 1
Tranmere scored two penalties to beat thier promotion rivals. A massive 10 had this spot-on, and 10 also got the outcome.

I thought this weeks fixtures were probaly the toughest ones we have had so far this season, and the results confirmed that impression. With 3 games failing to produce a 3 pointer, It was the Tranmere 2-1 that mainly made sure everybody got at least a point this week. Their popular victory achieved 40 of the weeks total 90 pouints. On such a tough week three members did well to have two 3 pointers. They were Daniel, who had the 1-0 wins for Millwall and Crewe, and gerry_us, who had the Crewe 1-0 and the Tranmere 2-1. They both also had one outcome, and share the honour of being the weeks top scorer with a very decent 7 points. Two 3 pointers also for concordman, who also had the wins for Crewe and Tranmere, to give him a decent 6 points. Best of those to get one 3 pointer was blueeagle. He had the Tranmere 2-1 and three outcomes to give him a decent 6 points. A special mention for Pinault_Noir on getting five outcomes.

In the Premier Just the Tranmere outcome for the top two, so basher2010 still leads sevebalo on the most 3 pointer rule. A couple of outcomes for mfb_cufc moves him a point nearer the top, but he doesn't really take advantage. Someone who take did take advantage of the top three faltering was current champ noah4x4. He had the Millwall 1-0 spot-on to move him up a place, but he still has work to do if he is to get that hat-trick of titles. In fact he is as near to the bottom three as the top three, with those in the bottom half of the table continuing to get good points. The top scoring performance from Daniel moved him up three places, and improved his chances of avoiding a quick return to Division One. The weeks other top scorer gerry_us remains second from bottom, but more importantly is now only 4 points from safety. With the way things are poised at the top and bottom of this division, I think we are in for an exciting final 52 games of the season.

In Division One Another two spot-ons for concordman, has helped to increase his lead to a season high 18 points. The bookies have already paid out on him being promoted. The fight for the other automatic spot could not be any closer. It is still unitedwhites holding on to thet position, but only on the most 3 pointer rule now, from blueeagle who moved up a couple of places thanks to his decent week. Even though he remains fourth ghughes11 closed to within a point of second, as he was another to have the Tranmere 2-1 spot-on. The final play-off places are occupied by BFG, and durham_exile, as the same six members have been in the top six for the past 8 weeks. The only other changes in this league has Lewis_1 moving up a place, and still with every chance of making the play-offs, and TheHappyGooner, who also go up a place, and moved off that unlucky 13 spot, that they had occupied for the previous 15 weeks.

THE TABLES (228 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
