Week 31 Results

WYCOMBE WANDERERS 1 LUTON TOWN 3

Luton scored three goals in the last 10 minutes to come from behind and beat bottom-of-the-table Wycombe, who played most of the second half with 10 men. Nobody got this spot-on, but 10 did have the outcome.

ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 AFC WIMBLEDON 5
Wimbledon moved out of the relegation places with this thrashing, after Stanley had opened the scoring. No 3 pointer for anybody, and only unitedwhites and TheHappyGooner got the outcome. 22 predicted a win for Stanley.

CREWE ALEXANDRA 0 OXFORD UNITED 6
Oxford kickstarted their play-off hopes by thrashing Crewe 6-0 to equal their record away win. This was Crewe's biggest defeat since a certain team from Essex beat them by the same score two seasons ago. Obviously no spot-on here, though 7 did have the outcome.

FLEETWOOD TOWN 1 ROCHDALE 0
Eoghan O'Connell's own goal saw Rochdale edge closer to relegation with this narrow defeat. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and a further 17 got the outcome.

LINCOLN CITY 2 BLACKPOOL 2
Lincoln staged a late comeback, after being two goals down, to snatch a draw against their League One play-off rivals. Well done to wessex_exile for being the only one to get this spot-on, and just 2 more had the outcome.

PORTSMOUTH 1 BURTON ALBION 2
Portsmouth's promotion hopes suffered a blow as Burton put an end to head coach Danny Cowley's 100% record. Well done to basher2010 for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only sevebalo got the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Portsmouth.

BARROW 2 CARLISLE UNITED 2
Offrande Zanzala's late penalty secured Carlisle a draw to stop Barrow getting their first Cumbrian derby win since 1960. Well done to Blue4U2 for being the only one to get this spot-on, and another 5 had the outcome.

BOLTON WANDERERS 2 HARROGATE TOWN 1
Eoin Doyle's 17th goal of the season wins it for Bolton, and fired them back into League Two's automatic promotion places as they came from behind to beat Harrogate. 6 had this spot-on, and a further 17 got the outcome.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 1 EXETER CITY 4
Exeter boosted their League Two play-off chances with an impressive win at Cambridge, who dropped off the top of the table as a result. Nobody got this spot-on, but 3 did have the outcome. 19 predicted a win for Cambridge with 12 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

SCUNTHORPE UNITED 0 TRANMERE ROVERS 0
Tranmere dropped out of League Two's automatic promotion places following this bore draw. A final game this week with no 3 pointer, though 4 did get the outcome.

With games being played behind closed doors for virtually the whole season, it was not surprising to find there has been more away wins than home wins, for the first time ever, in the Premier League this season. Perhaps it goes to prove that big crowds do give home teams that one goal advantage, especisally as Liverpool lost their last six home games before today. The Happy League doesn't reflect that, in fact the percentage home and away wins are very much in line with previous seasons. That may be because we haven't had many Premier League fixtures. With only 26 games left to the season, it is certain to stay that way, but that didn't stop the away win producing some surprising thrashings this week. There were five aways in total, and it was only the Burton 2-1 that achieved a 3 pointer. Five games without a 3 pointer, and three more with only one, helped to make this the second worst 10 game week of the season, and it was left to the two home wins from Fleetwood and Bolton to give us 73 out of the 116 total points for the week. Considering there were only 16 spot-ons, it was a great performance from Blue4U2 to get three of them, those wins for Fleetwood and Bolton to go with the good Barrow 2-2 pick, that made him the weeks top scorer with an excellent 9 points. Two members did well to have two 3 pointers. They both had the wins for Fleetwood and Bolton, with medicine_man also having an outcome to give him a very decent 7 points, and they gave burnsieespana a decent 6 points.

AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR PRINCE PHILLIPS FUNERAL THIS WEEKS FIXTURES HAVE BEEN MOVED FROM THEIR SATURDAY 15.00 KICK-OFFS, AND THE DEADLINE IS NOW FRIDAY 16TH APRIL 18.30

In the Premier A decent five outcomes for sevebalo made sure he maintained his 2 point lead. That good Burton 2-1 pick helped to get basher2010 5 points also, and put him a clear second. Four outcomes gave mfb_cufc a century of them for the season, but he drops back a point in the other Charity Shield spot. In fouth Sector4 fails to close the gap, despite getting the Fleetwood 1-0 spot-on. Up two places into fifth, and his highest position since Week 15, is Daniel after a decent week that included having the Fleetwood 1-0 spot-on. Another solid week, that included having the Bolton 2-1 spot-on, for RSCOSWORTH, and he remains sixth. Down into the bottom half, for the first time since Week 17, but only on the most 3 pointer rule, goes noah4x4. Joining those two on the same 166 points is Blue4U2, after his top scoring performance takes him up a place. Down another place, and suffering a U's type decline, is thrillseeker. He is now only a point above the relegation zone, after being no lower than 5th for the first 24 weeks of the season, with 17 of them in the top three. Another to benefit from having the Fleetwood 1-0 spot-on was TheFatGooner, and he has every chace of escaping, with only 6 points separating 5th to 10th. With only 26 games left to the season gerry_us and Tropical_Us have all to do if they are to escape.

In Division One In a week where point scoring was not easy, the three outcomes for leader concordman were enough for him to maintain that 15 point gap back to third place. Another solid week, that included getting the Fleetwood 1-0 spot-on, for unitedwhites, has greatly enhanced his automatic prospects, and he now has an 8 point cushion back to the third ghughes11, who had to settle for three outcomes. In fact the play-off places continue to remain the same again this week, and unless one of them can come up with something special in the final three weeks, I think a play-off spot is the best they can hope for. There is still a 7 point gap back to the seventh burnsieespana, but his decent week will give him hope of making the top six. Even though there are 78 points to play for, it is going to take a monumental effort for anyone else to make the play-offs. At the bottom the fight to avoid the wooden spoon continues, and the decent week for medicine_man takes him off the bottom, after spending the last 10 weeks there.

Week 32 Friday Results

PETERBOROUGH UNITED 3 NORTHAMPTON TOWN 1

Peterborough took a giant stride towards automatic promotion with a derby triumph that plunged Northampton deeper into relegation trouble. Sammie Szmodics got a brace to take his total for the season in the league to 15. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 17 had the outcome.

CRAWLEY TOWN 1 CHELTENHAM TOWN 0
Top-of-the-table Cheltenham suffered their first defeat in four games after a late strike by substitute Jordan Maguire-Drew gave Crawley victory. only 2 had this spot-on, and 2 also got the outcome.

First of all apologies to the members who failed to predict these Friday games. The EFL stated that all the 15.00 kick-offs on Saturday would be moved, in respect to Prince Phillip's funeral, to either 12.30 or 17.30. For some reason Peterborough and Crawley moved their games to Friday, and they just happened to be two of our games this week. The two results produced mixed fortunes, with the Peterborough win giving at least one point for everybody, and the surprise win for Crawley failing to give anyone a point in the Premier. So a reasonable start to the week with ten 3 pointers being shared out with ten members getting one each.

In the Premier The Peterborough outcome was enough to keep sevebalo top. Having the Peterborough 3-1 spot-on moved mfb_cufc up a place, and back into second. The only other change has Blue4U2 moving up three places, thanks to getting the Peterborough 3-1 spot-on. The other member to get that Peterborough win spot-on was gerry_us, and that improved his chances of avoiding the drop.

In Division One The Peterborough outcome for leader concordman, but unitedwhites continues to close the gap, that is just 4 points now, by getting the Crawley 1-0 spot-on, and the Peterborough outcome. With only 24 games left, they are both odds on for automatic promotion. Having the Peterborough 3-1 spot-on moved blueeagle up a place, but the play-off places remain unchanged. Having that Peterborough win spot-on helped burnsieespana move closer to the play-offs. Further down the league, going 1-0 all games got the Crawley win spot-on for TheHappyGooner, and the fight for the wooden spoon continues with medicine_man and Pinau;t_Noir both having the Peterborough win spot-on.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST 0 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 2
HARROGATE TOWN 2 BRADFORD CITY 1
