Going to be a very different team next year but a big shake up definitely needed to avoid a repeat of this season so hope to see some pre contract signings soon.

Totally agree, and what is happening smacks of Covid Economics to me.
Typical League Two wages were recently reported as £100k +. How is that sustainable on typical gates? Most League Two clubs that have made retention list announcements are shedding around a dozen of their most expensive players. I suspect they will reappear elsewhere at the same level, but on lower wages.
RCs decision to release four expensive players last Summer was possibly foresighted sensible economics albeit others didn't follow until now. This might well be the realignment with economic reality that the lower leagues have long needed. |  | | |

Suppose if going back to Cheltenham to live as has been suggested an easier journey but frankly seems an odd move to make

Not surprised by too many on that list to be honest. Pleased Pell has a half-decent move to League 1 Accy Stanley, and hope for his sake Harriott upgrades. Not sure Lapslie will though. Hope Beastman, Clampin, Stevenson and Folivi resign, but only if the price is right. There'll be plenty of alternatives to choose from. I'm surprised we kept Gerken as well as George, but not necessarily disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if Gerks graduates more into a coaching role. |  |

Big clear out which was a shock at first, but now the dust has settled it really is time to rebuild - as long as Cowling is ready to sign plenty. Was disappointed with Pell being released as every team needs a swash-buckler like him, but makes sense if a move to a League One club was in the offing.
