Have no idea of the standard but see Greg Halford has now joined Waterford where Anthony Wordsworth is.

Waterford are a League of Ireland Premier Division team. Their Chairman is Mitchell Cowling, son of Robbie.

I would have thought it was crystal clear why he had gone to Waterford, but at his age they will have to treat him like glass.

Opulence indeed.

Better than English non-league, or does he like Guinness and colcanan?

Maybe they both thought they were signing for Watford. Their last chance to crack the Premier League perhaps. Should've been confused by the need for passports and a plane to get there though.

Poll: How many polls will Leadbelly do this season?

Halford and Wordsworth both scored on their debut for Waterford, and Wordsworth was later sent off, in a FAI Cup First Round game against Athlone Town, played last Saturday.

Highlights are here. They include an incredible late equaliser for Athlone Town in the 34th minute of extra-time. Highlights fail to show Wordsworth being sent off. The ref gave a throw-in, but the ball was not out of play, so Wordsworth passed the ball to a teamate, and got sent off for kicking the ball away, after already been booked.

A quite remarkable game.
Thanks for the highlights Mick.

Waterford looked in total control at 2-0.

Spectacular equaliser.
Incredible restart with almost every Athlone player racing over the half way line.

Emotions overtook them in the penalty shoot out.

Wordsworth looked as though he could still hack it in League two.

A quite bizarre game.

Keep the highlights coming for future games!

Remember a 4- 4 draw with Millwall in the League Cup mid seventies, very similar to that, with the U’s losing on pens .

Wonder what the story is with the Athlone club crest having the Jules Rimet trophy included ?

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

bwildered I was at the game 4-4 classic match.
Can't remember the penalty score though.

I wonder if all Waterford games will be quite as remarkable.

Highlights from Waterford's latest game away to Drogheda United in the League of Ireland Premier League, played on Friday 30th July. Nothing like exciting as in their previous game, though Waterford's first goal was a superb free-kick. The highlights don't show Wordsworth being sent-off again, in the 94th minute.

With a red card record like that he should play for Glasgow Rangers

Amazing stuff.
