Week 2 results

LEICESTER CITY 1 WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0

A Jamie Vardy goal was enough to give Leicester victory. Only 2 (bwildered and Pinault_Noir) got this spot-on, and 25 had the outcome, with what must be a record, an incredible 19, went for a 2-0 in what was the weeks most predicted score.

BIRMINGHAM CITY 0 STOKE CITY 0
Birmingham and Stoke maintained their unbeaten starts to the season as they played out a bore draw. Stoke have not won away to Birmingham in 13 visits since October 1988. Well done to sevebalo for being the only one to have this spot-on, and another 10 got the outcome.

HULL CITY 0 QUEENS PARK RANGERS 3
Rangers eased to a convincing victory over newly promoted Hull, who had ex-U's George Moncur sent off. Nobody got this spot-on, but 7 did have the outcome.

MIDDLESBROUGH 2 BRISTOL CITY 1
Debut goals from Uche Ikpeazu and Matt Crooks earned Middlesbrough a first league win of the season. City are now without a win in 13 matches, going back to last season. 4 had this spot-on, and a further 15 got the outcome.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 1 GILLINGHAM 0
Luke Jephcott scored an 88th-minute winner as Plymouth registered their first League One points of the new season. That late goal was good news for the 8 who got this spot-on, and another 12 who had the outcome.

ROCHDALE 0 SCUNTHORPE UNITED 0
Rochdale and Scunthorpe lacked the sharpness up front (sounds familiar) to break the deadlock as they played out a bore draw. Well done to GOSBTS for being the only one to have this spot-on, and 2 more got the outcome. 23 predicted a win for Rochdale.

A week where overall the home teams were predicted to achieve a win for their returning fans. But with only 8 goals scored in the 6 games, none found it easy, though three did manage narrow victories. With QPR giving us our first away win of the season, the 12 games so far have produced 6 homes, 5 draws and that solitay away win. That late goal from Plymouth put a different complexion on things, as they got half of the weeks total 16 spot-ons, and with the total 71 outcomes, it made sure everybody put points on the board again. Just the two members got two 3 pointers, they were sevebalo who had the Plymouth 1-0 to go with his good Birmingham 0-0 pick, and mfb_cufc, who got the wins for Middlesbrough and Plymouth. They both also had two outcomes, to give them a very decent 8 points, and a share to being the weeks top scorer.

Happy Midweek League Cup Just a reminder that the competition starts next Tuesday the 17th, with the deadline 19.45. All details can be found on the separate Happy Midweek League Cup thread.

In the Premier The top scoring week for sevebalo made sure of him maintaining top spot. Up into second is the weeks other top scorer mfb_cufc. Another solid week, that included having the Middlesbrough 2-1 spot-on, keeps Sector4 in the Super Cup places. Even though he drops a place, three outcomes keeps RSCOSWORTH in the Super Cup mix. Only two more members managed a 3 pointer in this division, they were basher2010 and TheFatGooner, who both benefited from the Plymouth 1-0, and they are the only other ones in the + column this wek.

In Division One Having the Middlesbrough 2-1 spot-on helped take durham_exile to the summit. Just needs his beloved U's to follow his example. In the other automatic spot, on the first to post rule, is Tropical_Us, who had the Plymouth 1-0 spot-on. Last weeks top two wessex_exile and medicine_man had settle for just getting outcomes, and they are third and fourth. It couldn't be any closer for the other two play-off spots, with six members all having the same records. It is MrHappy2 and burnsieespana who occupy them on the first to post rule, with both having the Plymouth 1-0 spot-on. Just losing out on a play-off place are GOSBTS, Lewis_1, bwildered and thrillseeker, who all improved their positions by getting their first 3 pointer this season. Another four outcomes for gerry_us, means at this early stage he has more of them than anybody in both leagues. But it was a lack of 3 pointers that got him relegated last season, and the same problem could hold him back again. Four outcomes also for oxfcolu, and even though he remains bottom, there are only 6 points separating top from bottom.

THE TABLES (12 out of 280 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
