Week 3 results

HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 3 BLACKBURN ROVERS 2

Danny Ward's double helped Huddersfield end Blackburn's five-match unbeaten run. Nobody got this spot-on, but 12 did have the outcome.

HULL CITY 1 BLACKPOOL 1
10-man Hull get a late equaliser, but remain winless in nine matches. Only 2 had this spot-on, and 2 also got the outcome.

PRESTON NORTH END 1 STOKE CITY 1
Preston recorded a fifth-successive Championship draw, as they took their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions. 6 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome.

BURTON ALBION 2 PORTSMOUTH 1
Both sides went into the game without a win in six League One games but it was Burton who emerged victorious. Just 2 had this spot-on, and a further 7 got the outcome.

CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0 GILLINGHAM 2
Gillingham secured their first away win of the season. Nobody got this spot-on, though 3 did have the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Cambridge.

IPSWICH TOWN 6 DONCASTER ROVERS 0
Ipswich register their first home victory in League One this season after this thrashing of rock-bottom Doncaster. No 3 pointer for anybody here, but 20 did get the outcome.

MILTON KEYNES DONS 3 FLEETWOOD TOWN 3
Scott Twine's hat-trick was not enough to clinch maximum points for MK Dons. Another game with no 3 pointer, though 4 did have the outcome.

OXFORD UNITED 5 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1
Oxford chalked up a first win in six matches by hammering Accrington. Yet another game with no 3 pointer, but 20 did get the outcome.

SHREWSBURY TOWN 1 WYCOMBE WANDERERS 2
Second-half goals from Joe Jacobson and Ryan Tafazolli helped Wycombe get back to winning ways. Only 2 got this spot-on, and another 12 had the outcome.

SUNDERLAND 5 CHELTENHAM TOWN 0
Sunderland moved to the top of League One, after a sixth-straight home win this season. A final game this week with no 3 pointer, though 25 did get the outcome.

After the first two weeks of this competition produced a brilliant total of 69 spot-ons, this third week proved to be a big disappointment in comparison. It did have a big 40 goals in total, but a lot of goals in games is only going to make things difficult for finding 3 pointers, and so it proved, with just 12 overall. But the 105 total outcomes did make up for it to some extent. Those twelve 3 pointers were shared out so that twelve members got one each. Best of which came from wessex_exile, who had the Hull 1-1, and he also got an impressive six outcomes, to make him the weeks top scorer, with a very decent 9 points.

With four outcomes mfb_cufc remains top for the second week running. Five outcomes were enough to move TheFatGooner up a place into second. An impressive six outcomes moves concordman up a place to third. A decent 8 points, that included having the Preston 1-1 spot-on, took RSCOSWORTH up four places into fourth. Getting the Wycombe 2-1 spot-on helped gerry_us to remain fifth. Three outcomes for BFG, means he has to settle for sixth, after being second last week. A decent 8 points also for basher2010, that had the Burton 2-1 spot-on, moved him three places to seventh. The final qualifying place for the knockout stage is held by unitedwhites, after he got five outcomes. The joint biggest climber of the week was the weeks top scorer wessex_exile, and his six place rise has him only missing out on the top eight by the most 3 pointer rule. The other six place mover was GOSBTS, who was another to get a decent 8 points this week, helped by getting the Preston 1-1 spot-on. With only 9 points separating 8th down to 24th, it still very much all to play for with 70 games to go before the knockout stage.

THE TABLE (30 out of 100 played)
(Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post)
