He was coming along nicely for us in a Chilvers and Tchamadeau sort of way.
As I said on another thread we have a worrying disconnect between a few good ones we've brought on, good players like Wiredu and indeed Sears and Shamal and then some for whom it may not all matter much at this stage of their careers and those like Frank who don't really fit either. We do not feel like UNITED, if you see what I mean.
Our new management have a devil of a job ahead of them and I wish them all the luck going because it feels like we may need that.

I think team spirit is very much underestimated. Parkinson's promotion team weren't one of the strongest squads on paper but they worked extremely hard and were prepared to run through brick walls for each other. I think you need more at the higher levels of football but at this level hard work and team spirit counts for a lot although you could argue that Denmark nearly made the Euro final using a very similar mix. | |

Maxime Biamou formerly of Coventry City now playing at Dundee United is attracting interest from Cambridge, Wrexham and the Super U's. Striker 31 years of age and 6ft 1in tall.
I've seen him play for Coventry and he had a good spell with them but suffered an ACL injury. Chances have been at a premium in Scotland so let's hope that WB can persuade him to come to North Essex.

No TS - please don't cancel your trip on Saturday. We are going to win - new manager bounce, regardless of how many ex Ipswich players are in the team, they are COLCHESTER UNITED.
RC, TH, De Souza and co are merely custodians they will be gone eventually and it will be the loyal supporters that offer the continuity and will travel to see the XI take the field.
The club is always going to be bigger than RC and his cronies. We simply must garner enough points from the last 22 games to survive and then look forward to better times next season.
If you give in then they win and that is not what we want.

Other National lg crowds are close to theirs' - Stocky, Notts, Chesterfield, it just underlines how important it is for Colchester to be in league two next season and not the one below.
