Chairman on the BBC Essex football phone in- Major points .

Reiterating all that was in the club statement. Salary cap of 1.5m which was voted for by the chairman in the league was challenged by PFA and removed, so some clubs already spent more than the capped figure.
Most years the club has performed better than the wage budget of the league .
Does not pick the team .
Back to stripes next season .

Hooray! Striped shirts and probably select ones own seat next season.

Maybe we have finally reached the bottom and the only way is up? But frankly, both are meaningless if in non-league. The recovery must start now!

Humes and de Souza out! Spend the money saved on a striker!

Apologies in briefness - some extras
When things return to normal, should have top ten wages budget.
Regards the situation, imperative and optimistic we will not get relegated.
Good squad should be doing better.
If we did got relegated would have two years to return and academy would be at risk.
Fans not consulting on ticket system, thought the current practice was safe and OK for all .
Hoping to form Ladies Team.

Some positive stuff there. Great news on the ladies team. I'm not sure there's ever been an official Colchester United ladies team in the past.

I thought Krista Hultqvist’s (sp?) team was ‘official’ - could be wrong though. Still great news!

Tenant in my flat in Layer Road played for Colchester United ladies most of the time they existed!
As it happens she still plays CB for a ladies team but as she says, she is now the veteran of the side!

Well the Chairman states he wants the club to be self sufficient and concerns of being self reliant on his money, perhaps he could ring this guy to become a shareholder ?

Former Ipswich owner Marcus Evans has held talks about becoming a majority shareholder at Championship club Huddersfield Town.
