Oldham lose again

Rochdale kept in relegation battle due to home defeat against Mansfield

Leyton Orient win and are now safe

Relegation places

Scunthorpe and having seen their remaining fixtures Oldham.

Good results for the U's tonight, another game lost for Oldham keeps the 8pt gap in place. I agree, Orient ought to be safe now, and Rochdale still in the mire. All four below us are averaging one or less than one point a game, so as the lowest common denominator Oldham must make up at least 8pts, and probably 9pts, to overtake the U's in the next 8/9 games - that's turning relegation form into automatic promotion form overnight. One, maybe two more victories must mean safety for Colchester United.

If Brown is given the job permanently relegation will only be delayed for a season.

Next season is next season, it's all about this season at the moment Mick.

My comment was made in reply to the original post saying we will NOT be relegated this season.

Looks to me like we need at least 6 more points so we must best Stevenage and maybe points from draws against Harrogate, Walsall and Hartlepool.
Harrogate seem to be struggling at the moment so just maybe we could squeeze out a win.

I'm with you Mick.

Sadly I think what will happen is as obvious as what the fans would prefer to happen 😕

I'm not thinking that far ahead.

We will stay up and my fear is RC will think WB is the answer.

I will worry about next season once this one is over

If we look at the little things it would appear that Robbie is loosening the purse strings - the pre-match email suggests that there is a replacement for Matt Hudson, the re-appearance of Eddie the Eagle, and a general feeling that things are returning to normal.
That would suggest a managerial appointment early summer - not necessarily Wayne, but just look how the names bandied about on here have failed dismally this year. It's never easy, whatever your line of work, managing what was somebody else's team and I still think the team is being picked based on how the opposition play (the quote on Monday after the game was about trying the stop FGR playing wide) rather than playing our style, whatever that is.
And remembere, its squeaky bum time at the top as well as at the bottom.
