Keeping Frank - must admit I'm kind of pleased with that. Sam Hornby going back to Newcastle is a shame, unless we're now planning a bid to sign him?

Bradford had originally said they didn't want Sam Hornby back. A great shame because he is a very good keeper.

We must try for Andrews (Wimbledon) and Edwards (Bristol City) both of whom would be good additions.

Feel sorry for MWH who has been overlooked.

More disturbed though about the fact that managerial talks have not started.
We need the uncertainty to be over one way or the other.

He's from Bradford Wessex, Jake Turner was from Newcastle. I think it's the norm for loan players to go back to their parent clubs even if they're going to be released. I don't think it means we won't be signing any of that group.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hornby does leave Bradford, I think he has to "go back" even if it's just so they can announce that he won't be staying.

I don't think we saw enough of Andrews to warrant giving him a contract. Edwards however I think would be a very good signing.

I agree with you regarding MWH. Overlooked and underused this season for sure. For me he's a much better player than Coxe but both Mullins and Brown saw it differently.

I always think it's odd when clubs start signing or releasing players without a manager in place. Just goes to show how much say in that decision the manager/coach really gets.

If he is, he's probably making the right ones? However, I doubt he's making them in isolation even if he is.

There's only really been two of note and one's related to a player who's injured and the other a player who's barely featured this season.

For me the jury is still out on Akinde, I far from convinced so far. With regards to Nouble had had a poor season last season. We do need some width in the side though and he might be able to offer us that if he can rediscover his form from a few seasons ago.

Big John certainly has some width!

I do like him though. His strength and experience are valuable assets and the number of headers he wins and clever diagonal passes are excellent.

Problem is he cannot play 90 minutes. But if we get 60 mins a game that is probably ok.

So the shopping list requires .

Goalkeeper
Left Back

All players open to bids with only Wiredu, Chilvers and George likely to move on to pastures new.
Signing Kenlock and Huws would probably break the blueprint of top marquee total signings together with wages.

The club probably only require one loanee eg Edwards, has the U23 now have to step up the the level required.

Do we only have to pay him two thirds the going rate then?
I would prefer someone who can play for 90 minutes and some.

Perhaps we could get this guy on a season loan ?

FORMER Colchester United academy youngster Todd Miller has signed a new contract with Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who left the U's to join the Seagulls in July 2019, has penned a new one-year deal with the South Coast club.

Doubt it as think he has played 19 times for Brighton in Premiership and scored 4 goals

Whilst I agree with you it's very unlikely, worth bearing in mind those are U23 appearances. I don't think he's played at all in the Premiership itself? Still impressive though, and they clearly think enough of Todd to keep him on for another year.

Think there's a going to be a player announcement today. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Huws confirming that he's going to stay.

From what I've seen so far Hornby wasn't released by Bradford but they did release one keeper and sign another.

Five Youngsters Sign New Deals

https://www.cu-fc.com/news/2022/may/five-youngsters-sign-new-deals/

Interesting that Cracknell wasn't expecting to be offered a new deal. You would think that all five of these, plus the other two that recently signed new deals, need to be in and around the first team next season.
