Sadly somebody who attended the U’s Legends match today informed me that they held a minute’s silence for Paul Dyer, who has passed away .
A busy midfielder in the 70’s and loyal servant on and off the field for the club and he was also publican at the The Lamb, in the High Street .

Thanks for bringing it to my attention

I played cricket with Sammy and in my younger days in his CUFC scouting position he offered me a trial at CUFC but in my next match I broke my ankle and never got a 2nd opportunity.

No idea why we called him Sammy
