A Harvey Knibbs goal wins it for Cambridge, as they beat highly-fancied MK Dons, who fail to have a shot on target. A great 8 got this spot-on, and another 6 had the outcome.
CHELTENHAM TOWN 2 PETERBOROUGH UNITED 3
Jonson Clarke-Harris scored twice as Peterborough hit back from two goals down to start the season with a win. Nobody had this spot-on, though 14 did get the outcome.
IPSWICH TOWN 1 BOLTON WANDERERS 1
Ipswich and Bolton shared the spoils at Poorman Road after an entertaining draw. A sublime 6 got this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome.
NORTHAMPTON TOWN 3 COLCHESTER UNITED 2
Ryan Haynes marked his debut with a 89th minute winner as Northampton started the new season with a thrilling victory. Nobody had this spot-on, but 15 did get the outcome.
A pity we have no new members, but the good news is all last seasons members have returned. A big thank to you all, and hope the season is an enjoyable one for everybody. The season started with the usual unpredictable results, that had 3 games not achieving a 3 pointer, but the other 3 made up for it by producing a very respectable 17. The 1-0 has got off the mark early, and it was that popular result helping to produce the weeks best scores, with noah4x4 and MrHappy2 both getting 3 points for the Cardiff and Cambridge 1-0's, and the Northampton outcome, to give them a decent 7 points. That was enough to give them a four-way share on being the weeks top scorer, as basher2010 also got a decent 7 points by having the Cambridge 1-0 and the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on, and the Peterborough outcome. Finally a decent 7 points for wessex_exile by getting the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on, and four outcomes. With only the Northampton result stopping having a full house. Just missing out joining them was ghughes11, who was another to get the Cardiff and Cambridge 1-0's spot on, and thrillseeker, who had the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on, and three outcomes.
In the Premier Just the start former champ noah4x4 was looking for, after two seasons without threatening to add to his titles, and he leads weseex_exile, who is off to a flyer on his return to the Premier, on the most 3 pointer rule. A good start for ghughes11, looking to improve on his fourth place finish last season, and also for thrillseeker, on his return to the Premier. A solid start for last seasons runner-up TheFatGooner by getting the Cambridge 1-0 spot-on, and for current champ concordman, who also had the Cambridge 1-0 spot-on, and also for Daniel, who got the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on.
In Division One The "MrHappy 1-0" gave MrHappy2 a dream start, and he leads on the first to post rule from basher2010, who will be looking for an instant return to the Premier, after last seasons relegation. It is also the first to post rule that puts Lewis_1 above GOSBTS, as they both have the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on. That same tie-breaker rule keeps them above oxfcolu, who got the Cambridge 1-0 spot-on. The only other member to get a 3 pointer in this league was sevebalo, who also had the Cambridge 1-0, and he occupies the final play-off spot, at this very early stage.
