Wearing your socks over your knees in the Championship is a red flag as far as I’m concerned.

Always reminds me of Thierry Henry.

I would have got over it for him.

On the canteen incident I guess it comes down to whether you believe otherwise reasonable posters or not. I'm not including myself of course.

At the risk of looking like back tracking, there are lots of reasons why a loan or transfer won't happen in January that wouldn't rule out the fact the club are unreasonably hostile against him, or that he was told he wasn't wanted, which is what i think is the case.

On your second thing, there is more competition with Chair and Poku back. Why not mention it or both this time round if it was good enough reason before?
[Post edited 8 Dec 2025 15:55]

Fair enough. Regarding competition there was also Vale available at the time. When Kolli was in the squad he never replaced Frey (don't agree with this) which leaves 5 attacking midfielder / winger positions to 7 possible players using this JS formula (Chair, Saito, Dembele, Smyth, Poku, Vale, Kolli). It's stacked and incidentally haven't had a number of injuries to create opportunities until right this moment

The thing is Sam, in peacetime, this is all reasonable or subject to opinion.

But as Brian said, the club under this administration has a poor form in truth telling so any consistencies will always be looked at under this microscope.

Really off topic now but... you're skeptical which you're entitled to be, my question however then is... is there anything they can do to change that perception for you?

I was generally much happier with the change to a more active communication strategy, however you then had someone in a Facebook group complaining at Nourry for attending the open training session and "making it all about himself". Just seems like an impossible tight rope to cross where if you're looking for something, you're going to find it. Tough one and I'm not sure

"is there anything they can do to change that perception for you?"

Well they sort of have. I think we've made some great signings which they said they'd do but I initially didn't believe they would.

They addressed the fanless pre season debacle of the summer before last which I thought they wouldn't budge on, and I also think they are getting better at chatting to people like Clive and other grassroot outlets.

However, and I appreciate this might be a niche concern to me as a Trade Union person, I really believe (and have heard first hand) that they are treating people like shit and media managing the fallout.

Some people here will be results uber alles, but sorry that isn't me. I think we can afford not to be cnts too.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, i'm saying (I think) its well managed PR to cover the exclusion and possible exit of a in form and popular player.

A player rubbing his calf doesn't mean 'he's done'.

Lets have it right, he can't not play and also be "in form"

He's had two apps this season hasn't he? I'd pick him over Frey for most occasions, unless it was an MMA competition, but I couldn't describe two apps as any kind of form.

He was in form up until they stopped picking him / wanted him out, which really was the end of last season. Appreciate he played at Cov.

If JS is saying Kolli is injured, on camera, on Saturday, and he's not injured then that has to be lie that people have discussed and agreed upon. There is no spectrum between that. It's one or the other. I believe he's unfit to picked, you think they're fibbing.

This bit though: "we've been told time and time again how essential to our survival youth players are."

They're essential because selling them is essential to the bottom line. So if he's being sold in January, why is that bad?

It's not bad, when you look at it without context.

I think most will agree that to try and balance the books and turn the ocean tanker around QPR need to become a selling club. We can't hold out for an Eze every 10 years, it should be a steady stream of development, which allows the club to sell a player, with a new one coming along the conveyor belt ready to deputise.

This whole story isn't bad, its just disappointing.

Most people might have seen "something" in the way Kolli has played that suggests there might be a player in there.
Most people would love to see someone who started in the kids team make it into the first team.

But, I just don't think we've seen enough to realise if we are about to let a good one go without much benefit

OR, I could be wrong and hes the next Taylor Richards, or Sinclair Armstrong!

Just a big shame really. I don't imagine the current management would have given Adel a fair crack in the first team either.
Watching Adel play was a real bright spot for me in recentish years.

He's made six first team appearances, started at Coventry, started at Plymouth, couple of full halves too. I thought his cameo at Bristol was excellent and would've liked to have seen more subsequently...but he has been injured since then. Six appearances by December, having been injured too: it's not being cast into the wilderness, really.

Sorry just seen this.

If for example Koll says 'I have a sore hamstring but I can play' and JS says 'i'm not picking him because he's injured' is it not the case that both of those can be true? Is not also possible that the club could market his departure the same way?

A good demonstration of a spectrum I'd say.

- If the club needs to sell Kolli for the bottom line, fine.
- If the club needs to sell Kolli for the reason that he's embarrassed a staff member or has a mouthy Dad, not fine.

To be honest, this is where I am with the club too. I hate the media management stuff, like the signings, like the manager, hate they got rid of Furlong and not revealed who is taking the Dev squad games, etc. Perhaps similar to you?

Which proves that most 13 page messageboard debates on any subject could be resolved in 30 seconds across a pub table with either agreement or at worst a shrug.

But I want to believe, as feel it is best for all to believe, that the manager is not lying on camera at press conferences, as he comes across as a decent man. I assume that he's telling the truth over something as mundane as Kolli and Vale (or whoever's) fitness. To be cross about a lie, I need to catch someone in it.

I think a shrug is the best we can hope for here. I've heard too much from people at the club I trust.

Well of course Stéphan isn’t lying about Kolli being injured: if this wasn’t true then we all know Kolli’s Dad would’ve 100% called it out on social media by now.

Here we go again ,another 20 page thread on a player who’s barely played for us . And in all honestly wont be here much longer . If the club an engineer the very successful dev squad coach out of the door after so many years ,they won’t blink and eyelid doing the same to aplayer they would likely get a few million for in Jan who’s family allegedly rubbed the man child ceo the wrong way on a few occasions this and last season .esp when the spin will be it’s money to Edwards perm transfer.
Lbs the club will wish Kolli wellland the rumours will then start on what sell on clause we managed to get if he bangs a few goals in ,

We’ll all interpret it the way that suites whatever side of the QPR culture war we fall on won’t we.

I still find it funny he’s considered integral but injured now it’s convenient but was unselectable when he was fit.

Anyway, time will tell I guess. If he starts getting lots of time on pitch in January I’ll happily eat my words.

BUMP.

To those of you supporting a talented prospect from our youth team that continually delivers in front of goal whenever he’s given a chance. Well done.

To those of you who needlessly dug out a young player because you literally wouldn’t know talent when it smacks you in the face. Gazza etc. not so well done.

Don't think I belong to a camp, but tremendously gratifying seeing one of our own playing with freedom and confidence, putting away two classy finishes in front of the loft.

God knows the truth of all the off field shenanigans, but really hope he gets more games and grows. He could do with cutting out some of the more speculative passes in dangerous areas , which will hopefully come when he's more confident of his place and not trying to force it

Does anyone know what the odd angry look after his first goal was about? Some in joke goal celebration, or a reaction to something from the crowd?

He had an awful game up until that point. Passes astray and poor touches. Pleased for his goals which he took well but don't confuse two moments of brilliance with 70 minutes of underperforming.

I have to admit I missed the first half, and was doing other things whilst watching the second, but my impression was that the whole team were pretty laboured and uninspired until Kolli scored. I always think it's hard to judge a striker when the team behind them isn't flowing properly, although I did see him misplacing passes in dangerous areas like I say.

But, when you're not playing regularly it's easy to make mistakes by trying to force things that aren't on, especially if you're young. And the most important thing is that he's shown again that he has an instinct for scoring. We've lacked that for years - apart from the few games he played last season in fact!

For me he's a talent we should be excited about cultivating, and if Burrell is out for a while, now's the time.

Agree with this. The Manager won’t be viewing his performance as evidence he should be starting games - the opposite I would imagine. Hold up play and decision making poor. Looked quite lost to me. But he can clearly strike a ball and has a knack of getting goals which you can’t teach so definitely a role to play from the bench. But come on, that performance from a technical/team shape and structure point of view which the Manager will be focused on, that wasn’t great and I don’t think people can get on his back for not starting him more.
