Young U's team progressed to the next round of the Senior Cup last night with a resounding 8-0 victory over Hornchurch, ( will not bore you all with details has excellent report by Matt Hudson on OMB) .
Watch this fixture a couple of seasons ago when the club where under the stewardship of John Ward with the U's team makeup comprising a mixture of first teamers, youths and loanees . At that time the U's struggled for victory which was gained only with two late goals.
Trying to compare with now and a general overview, the U's team ( with the exception of Joe Edwards ) was almost all players still to establish full first team rights, but blew the visitors away within the first ten minutes, and without several saves by the visiting keeper would undoubtedly made double figures .
Let's hope this shows the progress being made behind the scenes and the contining development for the future of the club . |  |
