Transfer rumour rife about HP 22:58 - Apr 26 with 2116 viewsdurham_exile

A year ago Colchester tried to sign Midfielder Harry Pell who currently plays for Cheltenham.

The 6ft 4in Essex player still has a year on his Robins contract but it seems that JM is keen to sign him.

Please can we also bidfor Mohammed Eisa from the same club.

No doubt we will be linked to numerous players but will we sign any of them?

Suspect whatever happens we will probably finish with a nett loss. Bring on the kids I say.
Hopefully McG will be among the loss statistics.

This rumour could actually be true.

In today's GloucestershireLive:-

Cheltenham Town midfielder Harry Pell has been given permission to discuss personal terms over a move to a League Two rival.

The club in question, who have had a bid accepted, is thought to be Colchester United.

Pell, 26, will not travel to Crewe Alexandra this weekend for the Robins' final League Two match of the season.

A club statement said: "Cheltenham Town can confirm that, following a period of negotiations, it has agreed a fee for the transfer of Harry Pell to another club.

"Pell will not travel with the team for the fixture with Crewe Alexandra this weekend as he has been given permission to discuss personal terms."

Shows good intent.
Gazette reporting we have a one year option on Dickson which we are taking up.

Dickenson is good news.

The inclusion of the word "fee" in all of the reports about Pell makes me doubt it's us. Happy to be proved wrong though.

The latest on the HP deal from Saturday's GloucestershireLive:-

Harry Pell is close to joining Colchester United for a fee of £100,000, with a three year deal on the table for the midfielder.

Also in the same article they say Cheltenham have received one verbal offer for top scorer Mo Eisa, but it was a long way short of their valuation of around £1.5million. So no chance of him joining us then durham.

With loads of players out of contract in a few weeks, why are we wanting to buy a player ?

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

It is most unlikely be club to do any business so early but better than scraping the bottom of the barrel at the end of August...if it happens.

MFB all the more reason to to bid for Eisa and include Szmodics to "sweeten" the deal.

It all depends how much we want to get out of this league next season. Eisa is a guaranteed 20 goal man and would link up with Junior superbly.

I for one am sick and tired of having to wait for the so called bigger fish to fight over the stars and then the minnows have to make do with the scraps or bottom feeders.

The irony is that we could afford him after our transfer-dealing over the past two years.

Would the amount impact on the EFL financial rules, don't know but other similar clubs manage it.

After yesterday without serious additions to the squad we will struggle in what will be a weak league next season.

Speculate to accumulate someone once opined.

Yesterday of those that started Prosser, Vincent-young, Comley, Gondoh, Junior, and Kent were ok or good everyone else who played was poor. Szmodics was abject.

The real irony is that Exeter are an ok side nothing more.

Anyway enough for now.

Get that cheque book out for Eisa and quick he will be an exciting addition to the team and our best striker for 10 years.

Cheltenham value Eisa at £1.5m, and have already rejected a verbal offer that didn't match that. I suspect even with throwing in Mr Penalty to sweeten the deal, we're not going to be able to get anywhere near that price.

On yesterday, I completely agree that Exeter for the most part looked ok at best - maybe nerves played a part, but they really were nothing special in a game we controlled for long spells. Inevitably, the difference was they could create and threaten to convert the few opportunities they had - we could still be playing now and not have scored. On first viewing, I'm afraid I wasn't that impressed with Barnes either.

The club say their usual "undisclosed fee", but today's GloucestershireLive said:-

"Harry Pell has completed his move from Cheltenham Town to League Two rivals Colchester United.

The Essex club have paid a fee of at least £100,000 for the Tilbury-born midfielder, who spent three seasons with the Robins and had one year left to run on his contract."

He has been booked 40 times in the last three seasons. So he certainly likes to get stuck in.

13.33 bookings per season! He'll miss a few games with suspensions then...assuming he doesn't get injured of course.

Has the monika PELLE plenty to live up too!

Reckon he will be a decent signing for the U's

But we desperately need a striker more than ever
