I think he's come on as a sub in the last to games, so hopefully he'll be back next season.

At this exciting/worrying time in our history, people who cannot understand why many of us despise the very existence of the MK Dongs, might like to consider how they would feel if a prize c@n# like Peter W@nkelman suddenly rocked up at the home of football.

With the club not having it’s own stadium, how do we fancy relocating 60 miles away to a piece of land outside say Bedford?

Anyone that accepts the Dongs would presumably be happy with us becoming the Bedford U’s and playing next year in L2?

If we can include loan players, I would find a place for Jacob Murphy and possibly Callum Harriot when he was first here.

What about Noah Chilvers on the bench, but as Durham would say, only when the cameras where in town?

I can never get fed up with watching this, last game of the season, when we could have still gone down. We could have done with a few of these recently, instead of trying to walk the ball into the net.

The fact that madam didn’t think to send the letter when York had an enormous lead earlier in the season, is laughable enough, but the double-barrelled first name lost me.

Have some respect for society, pick one name and stick to it. One name is enough for most of us, in fact most of us get our names shortened, Ant, Dan, Sam, Debs etc. So why are some people so special that they need two full names? Can you imagine the waste of time/ink/oxygen if we all went around being pretentious tvvatts.

Ooooh look it’s Daphney-Smallbrain Ponsonby-Smyth……….

I so hope York fail to get promotion again.

Last season they chuffed it up big time and listening to their owner just before their first play-off match, banging on about how long they were going to have to wait until the final at Wembley. They never even got there.

Next thing she's trying to change the rules to suit York!

As Noah will point out, we don't want hoards of non-league standard grounds in the EFL thank you.

So let's keep the rules as they are, bloody f@r@#gn@rs.

Hopefully, if it goes through, everyone will gel and work together, but it is hard to see that happening, which is a shame.

At least they got a very long contract out of RC, so they may end up sailing off with pockets overflowing, straight into a better job. Either way, they deserve legendary status for navigating us through the last couple of years.

As for JT (or Marmite as he should be called), it seems a third are wetting themselves about the idea, a third are not impressed at all and the remainder are cautiously optimistic.

I've long since come to the conclusion that decent people around the world have surrendered to 'do-as-you-likies' and anyone with a functioning moral compass just has to lump it nowadays.

I take comfort in the fact that it's not Mr Barton and I'm mildly excited and open minded about the whole situation.

Like DC/NC he is a winner and it's about time we had some excitement.

I think you are spot on, on your first point, but there’s maybe a third scenario for your second point.

If you buy a house or a car, you pay what it’s worth to you, not what someone else has spent/wasted/pretended to spend on it?

Image if someone bought a house 20 years ago for £100k and spent another £100k on a new kitchen, bathroom, windows etc. Then, pathetic as it sounds, year after year in their head, they charged themselves interest on the money they spent, so they now kid themselves they’ve spent £800k in total. The debt or pretend debt is completely irrelevant to what someone will pay, but it’s still going to sting if it’s buzzing around their head and it could take a little time to come to terms with the loss.

A L2 football club that doesn’t own any significant assets and doesn’t have much hope of breaking even, is probably worth £4-5M I guess. So if the £14M is anywhere near accurate, surely that must include the use of the training ground for at least some specified time?

I think we are getting to the crux of what is wrong with football in 2026 (and the world). Years ago, most clubs (and other businesses) were owned by local people and they were more akin to guardians, than investors. Think back to Heard, Powell, Worsp et al. they certainly had the appearance of people that were looking after the club for the next generation.

Fast forward to the world today and everything’s about money. Businesses are run by CEO’s bleeding everything dry so they get their massive bonus. They don’t give a shit about the future.

Are any foreign moneybags ‘investors’ going to care about Col U in 10-20 years time? As long as they have the use of a training ground while they have their fun for say 10 years, why would they care about the long-term future, it’s going to be someone else’s problem.

If they buy a racehorse, are they thinking about what is going to happen to that horse when they’ve had their fun and it can no longer run?

Anyone going to the match would be advised to take a packet of woodbines just in case JT's old man wants a ciggy. You can't be too careful!

We are all going to have different opinions on this, but I would reinforce my argument with the following facts.

Firstly, the levels of debt and loses are based on some internal shenanigans within a group of companies. As discussed elsewhere, the actual lose last year may have only been £600K. It’s all conjecture and we all have different opinions, but I would suggest that maybe the debt is only one person’s fault, because of a catalogue of poor decisions from the start. Add to that, the disastrous PR that drove many away. How much did the lean years of 2500-3000 crowds lose in gate receipts? Then the effects of compound interest are severe.

Secondly, there is no shortage of ultra-rich in the UK. I believe there are around 5,000 people with £100M or more. That is not so say that they all want to buy a football club, and more important that they would be happy to do business with our man. However, many of them want to enjoy their cash on yachts, racehorses, football clubs, and other things all guaranteed to burn money. The loses don’t stop them. Numerous clubs are still owned by British, many of them much larger than the U’s, so it is not a ridiculous idea that somewhere in the UK, someone would like to have a go at the right price.

To say that the club would be in administration without the main man, well yes, but so would all the other 91 clubs. As far as I’m aware none on them make a profit year in year out, so I don’t know what that proves? Surely anyone that buys a football club knows it is going to cost them? If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Finally, why did we have Brexit? I thought the great unwashed ‘wont our country back, cos we is sick of foreigners medlin in evrythink innit’. It’s not healthy for any of our Utilities, Healthcare, Newspapers, TV channels, Steel and other core industries and community based entities like football clubs to be in foreign hands, so when are we going to do something about it? No one is stopping us now.

Apart from that I agree with everything you say.

PS: Seeing as Mr.T has recently caused a minor stir in the press by apparently showing support for Rupert Lowe and Restore Britain (with three applauding emojis and the St George Cross), I am confident that, like all patriots, he’s not a hypocrite and would only support an all English consortium anyway. So the whole debate is probably irrelevant.

My preference would be for the stupid debts to be wiped, and for a sale to a local or small group of locals with a reasonable amount of money.

I don’t see how hawking the club to (potentially) jonnie foreigners as a plaything, is good for the club or its supporters in the long run. It looks to me like it only benefits one person.
