Football: chock full of liars?
at 18:53 18 Mar 2013

Various QPR-related matters have given me cause to wonder whether it's ever a good idea to take at face value anything said by anyone connected with football. Cue a long piece that will doubtless be considered a rant. So, that's fair warning, right? You may well not like this damn piece:

Football's/Arsenal's worst rapper/fan?
at 18:51 6 Mar 2013

Consider the Anfield Rap... Rap and football are uneasy bedfellows, never seeming to combine to catalyse great art. This observation was never more true than in the case of young Arsenal fan Scott Kieran. Only follow the link if you're ready for some serious earache. There is comedy value to be had, though:

A look back at Stamford Bridge heroics and a look forward to Loftus Road challenges

For those with the time and inclination for a bit of a read, my take on last week's heroics and the questions of whether the result will catalyse a renewed push to avoid relegation:

My usual verbosity, I'm afraid, so it'll take more than a couple of minutes of your day to read this. A bit of a struggle to remain optimistic, too:

John Terry grabs Mackie by the throat

I didn't see this incident myself during the match, and it clearly escaped the ref. But there is a pretty damning picture in one of the tabloids. This incident (with the pic) is covered by my latest blog offering, which is a fairly light-hearted and disgracefully biased account of Saturday's game:

QPR-Chelsea preview: insults, injuries and a proper singsong

Not a serious match preview, this is shamefully biased and rather inflammatory:

the little toad has outdone himself now - new levels of Twitter nastiness - it does appear to have got him nicked, though:

Not QPR related but....

... football-related and deucedly weird. Yesterday I met a woman with a certain level of notoriety in football circles who is starting on a campaign to be take over from Roy Hodgson as the next England manager. It was a hoot and she's certainly a character:

As ever, not a real report as such. A jumble of impressions of the evening and ill-informed speculation about the future of those senior players unfortunate enough to be there on a balmy evening down in Hampshire:
