Leeds boss in shades of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf?

One of the few lighter moments in the vulgar Iraqi conflict were the antics of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, Saddam Hussien's Information Minister. Dubbed "Comical Ali" by the Western Press, he provided some wonderful soundbites including accusing Coalition warplanes of flying low to shake buildings and Western forces using booby trapped pencisl.

Some Leeds fans may compare Simon Grayson's latest comments following today's defeat at Crystal Palace as being similar to Comical Ali's.

Grayson clearly believes we can win our last two games and still make the play-offs.

Leeds slipped to ninth, three points behind Notts Forest, with a lesser goal difference than the Reds and just two games to play.

However despite just one win in our last nine matches, Grayson believes the rub of the green has deserted us.

"We want to turn a good season into a great season," Grayson said.

"The next two games are both winnable. We still have a fighting chance and football has a funny way of being unpredictable.

"It is out of our hands now, where a few weeks ago it was down to us. We have not had the breaks and it showed again today.

"If it doesn't happen this year then we will come back again and try next year."

If we are honest with ourselves, we would have taken ninth at the start of the season. However the frustrating thing is defensively we have been shocking all season and we have thrown away a great chance to have a crack at getting amongst English football's elite after seven long years in the wilderness.
